    Well if I applied standard criteria I'd say that the sky jumps out and overpowers the foreground; and the horizon line is at the vertical center, which reduces the impact.

     

    Rules are made to be broken. It's a very nice photo in its own way.

    Wayne, I just pictured it as you described - horizontal rather than vertical - and imagined walking out there - it's scary.

    Great subject - the maple leaves in foreground, another window visible through the darkened building. I question the white balance because the paint looks blue/green and I'm guessing it's white. The bit of green leaf (?) on the top edge is a minor distraction. Maybe a bit more wall around the window and leaves would be nice.

    This is interesting. The hands are below glass? It takes a moment to notice that the hands are different colors. I'm guessing the one at right is not real.
