  1. Hi Anthony, this was taken back in 1988 maybe? I used a Mamiya 2 1/4, silver print, hand-colored. This was in Vaison-la-Romaine in the south of France. I'm not sure where you would have seen my print, probably someone else's print of the same place. :-) Thank you for your lovely comment.

Absolutely lovely. Wonderful composition, light, and texture. Makes me want to follow the path to find a lovely terrace restaurant to sit and eat Calimari.

  2. I love this. I have a great fondness for beer labels. I don't actually drink much myself, but I find the labels to be a wonderful genre of art. Love the type, love the shapes and I always favored the ones with birds like this one!

Gorgeous contrast between the bright glow of dawn with the glow of orange lights in the still darkened land. I lived on a boat for 14 years and that is what I loved. How incredible the light was and how it shifted within the day and seasons.

Thanks for this lovely photo that brings a bit of nostalgia for me.

Hi, sorry I didn't see this comment sooner. I photographed the Osteospermum against a blue background and it was in a blue glass vase. I then added a texture layer in Photoshop that was a section of blue in a painting - but had some nuances in it. I added another texture layer that had the "scratches" - then I put a mask to clean away the texture only in the center of the flower. Cheers! I'd have to go look at what my settings were for the texture layers. Hmmm. Maybe I'll do a video on this.

Thank you for your comments. I appreciate you taking the time to look. I'm just starting to develop a series of Still Lifes with texture layer treatments. I try to use textures to enhance the actual photo, so a good base photograph is important to me. I didn't mention the technique at first as I was curious to see what the initial impressions would be.

    Working on some more. :-)
