OH! I forgot to mention that the tc needs to be under $250 new
-
but how much?
-
OK........ So I have a nikon d40 and I am soon to buy an af-s Tamron 70-210mm f. 2.8, for $670-ish, new. Because it
is a f. 2.8, i am looking to teleconvert it into a 140-420mm f. 5.6. I am looking to buy a white Tamron teleconverter for
it, HOWEVER, I have heard that the only teleconverter that would work and AF on it would be the kenko dg af-s
teleconverter. I really want the Tamron tc, but not at the expense of functionality, so, any thoughts? please?

Where the heck did you find a f100 for $200!?!?!
-
Wow so what you guys are saying is that technically my sb-400 could command my SB-800. WOW thats cool.
-
I also have a cosina 70-210mm lens that is nikon AF not AF-S. It does not AF on the d40, but i think it might on a film slr
-
Rene, I own one and have used it at events. Believe me, It bounces to ninety degrees
-
Well, when my 70-210 unexpectedely broke at a graduation, i was forced to use my co-workers 55-200(like the one in question) and found that it was very soft. Luckely, the parents were so glazed over by seeing "little johnny" in a cap and gown, that there were no complaints.
-
Yeah, surprisingly alot of people have no idea it bounces until they stumble upon the information. That really reiterates my point about how it is very "low key".
-
OK........... I have a nikon d40 and the 18-135 af-s lens(as well as some others) and i was wondering, if i wanted to
get all the film slr(body only) i could for the money (saying i had $100-$200 to spend) what would be my best option?
(p.s. I am completely clueless when it comes to the model names and prices of nikon slr's)

I know of many people who when considering a flash always kick out the little 400. THIS THING IS GREAT!!!!!! I have
owned mine for about 10 months now and I absolutely love it! I also own an SB-800 and that thing is amazing as
well. HOWEVER, the 800 does not compare in areas with 10 to 20 feet ceilings where if you have that 400 bounced
to 90 degrees and set to ttl, it is amazing. Not only that, it is extremely lightweight, and also low-key if you are at a
party or get-together of somekind. I am a proffesional photographer and have found many times of preference for the
400 over the 800. If you have any comments or disagreements, they are all welcome here.

If your looking for cheap but affective, i suggest the older SB-28,50, or 80 DX
-
As a cheap alternative, ever think of the old AF-I lenses?
-
serious hobby = oxymoron ? think about it.
-
Why would it matter the color?
-
In my experiences with the SB-800, i always use a set of 2650 mah rechargeables and it works fine for me.
-
Well, my friend said that he saw a video on youtube of a man who got his to do this. However I haven't seen the
video. But, what your saying does make sense. Oh well, we'll try again later just for the sake of arguement.

OK........ I recently purchased an SB-800 speedlight. My friend came over one day to check it out and brought his
set up, which includes a 430 EX speedlight. Since the SB-800 is a commander unit, i was wondering if we put his
430 in slave mode and on the same channel as the SB-800, that the SB could command the 430. We tried a few
times and couldnt seem to get it work. However, I still have a funny feeling it could work. Any
Comments/Suggestions? please, they are welcome
