So if I choose to buy the D40x, then that means that i can only use Nikon AF-S lens right? Are AF-S lense generally alot more expensive than regular AF lenses that doesn't have a motor?
-
I have considered the D40x but I have read that the D40x does not have a built in AF motor, which will require that I buy lens with AF motor, which I am guessing would cost more. Also, the price difference between the D40x and D80 is about $100.00. As for the lens I guess I will have to play around with it at a local camera shop to see what it is that I want.

Oh wow! Thank you for the info Travis. Good thing I posted this on the forum. I guess I should just buy a new D80 body at bhphoto.com and then go buy my lens separate.. But for being a newbie, it's difficult to know which lens is right for me.

- Nikon D80 body (perfect condition, took only about 4k pictures with)
- nikkor (nikon) 70-300
- Sigma 28-70
- 3 year warranty (two years left - camera one year old)
- small camera backpack
- 4 GB Memory card
- battery & charger
- cables to attach to computer.
A private seller is selling this package for $850. Since I am new to DSLR, do you thik this is a good price?
I am sure it would cost me more if I were to buy them separately.

You can get a new Nikon D80 body for $570 at BHphoto.com.

Hello everyone.... I found some used D80 bodies offered on Adorama.com website that was selling for a really good
price of $519 for excellent condition rating and $544 for a Demo condition rating. Is Adorama.com a reliable site to
purchase the used camera body? and is this a good price?

I have decided to enter the digital SLR world and would like to get some feedbacks from Nikon users. After doing
some researching and reading articles, blogs and forums I have decided to purchase a used D80 because I can get
better deals from ppl wanting to upgrade their D80 to the new D90. My question is to you is. If you had a choice
would you buy a used D80 outfit that already comes with a lens OR would you buy separately a used D80 body and
a brand new lens of your choice? And my 2nd question, what new lens would you recommend for a newbee?
My budget for both body and lens will be $800 or less. Please give me your input so I can make a better decision.
Nikon D40x is this a good price

Hello everyone.. I know I have several questions posted on the forum. I have decided to get teh D40x but can you
tell me with option would you pick.
option A: D40X body only (demo) for $300.00. I will have to put the lens separately. OR
option B:
1 Nikon D40x Camera Body
1 55-200 Nikkor 55-200MM VR lens
1 28-70mm Sigma Lens
1x UV 52mm Filter
5 Color 52mm Filter
3 Micro 52mm Filter
Sigma DSLR Camera Bag that will fit everything I mention
Sd Card Belt Clip
Lowepro Transporter Camera Strap replace default nikon strap
Total will be $580.00.
I like option B but one problem with option B is that the sigma lens is Manual, not AF. And I really prefer
having all my lens to be Nikon.
Which option would you advice me on choosing?
