Are you kidding! I live in WA State…in my opinion one of the most photogenic places in the world and I never run out of things or places to photograph! Pull out your map and look at what is close to you, I bet that within a 50 mile radius there is something, a park, a mountain, the water…ocean, lake, river etc! Even on those rainy days I can always find something to keep my camera happy ;) Go to the store and buy some flowers, try water drops or blow bubbles and try to capture a reflection. If you are close to Seattle send me an email and I will send you a list of very inspiring places that are close. Keep clicking and the blues will go away…its spring and everything is blooming…start there. Good Luck

 2.
I don’t usually participate in these threads however I do read most of them. Nothing in life stays the same and that my friends is what makes life (at least mine) so interesting. Chances are your memories of the good old days are a bit perceptive as well…things were never like they used to be.

The fact that this site has such big and diverse member base should be a credit to all of those who have participated over the years. I don’t have the tenure of some members, I do find my $ well spent for the support and help I have received from so many fine photogs! I look at my earlier photos and the much better ones I am taking now; this would not have been possible without the gained knowledge and helpful advice from others on this site.

I have made friends with folks that I would have never met any other way, met up with people while traveling, met local photographers and have plans to network with others. Where else could I get this same opportunity? Like David and a few others pointed out….where would you go…. I visit and am a member on some other sites…trust me folks the grass is green, lush and well tended on this side of the fence!

 3.
I have a 40D with the following package of lenses, 17-40 f4 L, 70-200 f4 L non IS, 24-105 f4 L IS and 100 f2.8 L IS. I love every lens and they all have their uses. All these lenses will move with me when I pony up to a full frame and will continue to work super on my 40D which I will keep no matter what.

I use all these lenses depending on what I am shooting but the 24-105 is the one I use most because of the range and its sharpness. It is also IS so hand holding is more possible when the need arises, I usually use a tripod. I am extremely happy with my choices and they seem to cover the needs of my photography so far.

What I wouldn’t do is buy a lens specifically for a crop camera, this just a personal preference. I will say I agree with the above statements….you don’t need what you’re not sure about!

 4.
While I am sorry for your situation with a VERY contagious illness..... I find it hard to believe, in fact am quite shocked that you would even consider putting others at risk! I'd like to point out that pdn is not a professional health care site and I am wondering about your ethics.
As Art pointed out:
The person that gave it to you George didn't think it was contagious either.

I do wish you a speedy recovery
