When making adjustments in Aperture whatever I do seems to take several seconds to action. If I move any slider it is a wait while the wheel spins to see the result which is a bit frustrating. Am I missing something or is this normal? This is with no other application running.

In response to this tragedy and to extend the immediate support to its victims and affected area, Nikon Corporation has decided to donate 100 million Yen to the Japanese Red Cross Society. (Nikon UK Press Release)

I was about to go for the ipad 1 and then heard of the 2 so decided to wait. A very cool tool for showing images. I have just had a conversation with my local Apple Store (UK) about tethered shooting which I would like. The guy I spoke with is a keen photographer and gave me a couple of pointers. They wrote an app in house for his Olympus which works really well but is not sold. We can not get any in the UK before 26th March. Robbed yet again by the Americans :-) My plan is to go into the store for one and he will show me his app working. I did ask about wireless memory cards but his experience of them was poor.
Seems a nice tool of you could use it tethered and then show off images. No doubt the 3 or 4 will do even more. It certainly looks sexy and I have no doubt it will sell.
There are few dealers selling the one at quite hefty discounts.

On two occasions in the past 18 months I have paid over GBP 1000 to two individuals in the US. Each payment was thus more than $600.
All it needed was their full bank details. No mention of a Social Security number was ever asked for by my bank or anyone else to make the payment.
Could of course be a new requirement but I thought I would ask my bank to try and help answer your question.
Not needed as far as we are concerned was the response.

Why is it when you just order something you see a post like this :-)

Howard. Thanks. Just done that now. Confused or what :-)
Patricks comment decided it for me. Good enough for a highly regarded pro like him then good
enough for me. Thanks Patrick.

I am about to go for a 27 inch imac. The edge to edge glossy screen looks good BUT is it
the right machine for image editing? 8GB of RAM enough for PShop? Help and advice much appreciated.
Thanks

I am starting to find this interesting.
Need to know more! What skills you all have. I just wish I had part. Interests me enough to - as we say in England - give it a punt.
(Try it out)

Thanks for the link. Saw it and thought I want to do this.
Then Michaels link spoilt it all :-(
I wonder if it can be done on a more limited scale but less expensive.
Standard microscope with adaptor?

Just out of interest Mercedes dealers in the UK zero all milage readings to zero prior to delivery. The computer system lets them do it but I think only up to a max of a couple of hundred miles.

D700. A setting. All camera settings 0 (Sharpening etc)
All hand held. The bent chair is as a resut of me throwing it at next door who would not turn the noise down.
I expect I will get the full kit out tomorrow. Kirk RA bracket on Arca Swiss Ballhead on heavy old Manfrotto with cable release and mirror lock up.
NO PP other than resize. If anyone wants a couple shooting off let me know settings you require.
Graham.

Apple/Aperture advice please.
