1.
Hi all! A lot of excellent pics and overall high quality this week. I'm a bit late tonight as it's already Thursday here in Uppsala, Sweden, but I hope it's ok anyway. Shot late at night four days ago with a D700 and 50/1,4 wideopen and ISO 2000 on my way home from a barcrawl. It was a wet night... and it also drizzled from up above.

00Urxv-184693684.jpg.586d47891853ebdb16665fe6db121f47.jpg

  2.
Hi.
I've got both one with and one without the extra lens and my experience is that it differs between both lensbrands and between different focal lengths. Myself I've got Zeiss Jena, Industar, Meyer, Yashinon, Pentax etc. M42-lenses, all around 50mm and a Takumar 135, and for me the Pentaxes has been the worst performer while the Industar 58/2 is the one I've used most. I'll say it's worth it especially since the lenses themselves, except maybe Pentax, are really cheap (I've never paid more than eq. of £15 here in Sweden, except for the Pentax 50/1,4). I also recommend you to get the adapter w/o the extra lens to use for close-up work (macro, portraits etc.) which is cheaper than the one with. The extra lens is there so you can focus to infinity, since Nikons flangedistance is longer than other brands, but it might also induce more flaring inside the camera under the wrong circumstances. But unfortunately it seems that Canon is the best choice if one wants to really explore this option.

Regards.
3.
A lot of striking pictures this week. Quite a few stood out, but I'm too tired, sorry, to leave any comments right now( it's two o'clock in the mornign here in Sweden and I've just home from work) so I'll just mention them: Pedro, Lil, Monika, Matthew, Benjamin, Carey, Thangavelu, William, Mark, Jim, Adam, Uzay, Ton and Jeff. I also did like most of the macros, if not all. My contribution this weekwill give you lensflare but at least I find the pic. somewhat dramatic as well. D700, Nikkor 50 at f2.5 and 1/2500 s. Location: Stabby, Uppsala.

00Ugku-178781584.jpg.aec4c99b65326767773e85b6e3b9bd0b.jpg

  4.
Thanks for the info. The preview worked for me but then I've got the permission so that's why, I'll see what I can do. I tried other linkadresses first but none seemed to work in preview, I tried both with and without suffixing .jpg. Ill try to post another link to see if I get it to work.
Does it work ok now? Recently subscribed to zenfolio and haven't done much sharing before either, but learning. If things work out what you see is a downscaled version of an already small file, but now I know 'til next time.
Best.
5.
Hi y'all.
This is my first posting on w'day pics but after getting the d700 just a week ago I realised I must be more active (and it's such a fun camera to use) so I will try to post more in the future. Sorry for the lack of comments, I will try to better myself. This is from our citys newly built, and hotly debated, auditorium. I like it, but a lot of people don't.
6. I agree with what some already has said, go for what you can afford today rather than wait, and then start shootin'. Besides I think you should rather consider d90 isof d80, as it seems that d60 is kind of d80 lite, same sensor but newer processor in d60 (Expeed), probably improved high-ISO performance, lighter and smaller (for better, for worse). The AF-system is lesser on d60 (3 points against 9 on d80/d90) and without internal AF-drive, but provides a rangefinder so even if you have to turn the focusring by hand the AF helps you find focus (see manual for details). I use a lot of old lenses (pre-AF) on my d40 (one of the first things I bought was a viewfinder-magnifyer, and I'm going to buy a new focusscreen (and I'm wearing glasses)) without problems, and also non AF-S/AF-I lenses where I utilise the rangefinder. My final recommendation is, it's better to spend money on lenses than cameras, 'cause lenses keep better.

    Best wishes,

    Anders.
