An idea for "Lead Lines" - does it work?
-
Excellent tone but I agree perhaps a slight crop off the bottom would improve it. still a 6 for me. Well done.
-
Excellent infrared shot - nice dof.

Excellent result and tribute Gail. Memories keep those we love alive in our hearts - may you both have many more.

Excellent, Infra red filter I assume from the movement in the trees, love the processing and the colour choice.

You definitely have a Pre- Raphaelite eye with this model - great work, yet again!
-
Thanks Tony, I think you have improved it.
-
Passé or not, I like this shot, well captured and a good subject for this technique.
-
Reminds me of a Pre-Raphelite painting - very well done. Excellent composition and execution - thanks for sharing. 7 from me.

Excellent IR work, like the tones you've chosen for this shot. IR Filter or converted camera?

Hi Sarah, welcome to p.net. I like the idea and can see what you were trying to achieve. Now I'm going to be very critical and I hope it helps. Your camera was set on creative program and used f8 and 1/350 sec - for this kind of shot you should be on aperture priority, and use the smallest aperture or near smallest for greater depth of field. This means you should probably have had a tripod with you for longer exposures. You have shot against the light and this has caused burn out both on the main flowers and in the background, and the framing is slightly out as the flower runs out of the frame on the right. The stamens are nicely in focus, which is good but greater depth of field ( smaller aperture) would have helped improve things. The background is nicely out of focus but is confusing and distracting - cropping the shot in post processing would help eliminate this. Hope all this helps - I'm going to go through your portfolio and will comment where I think I can help. We all start somewhere and your eye sems to be good.

Superb shot Wim, excellent treatment. Great tones. 7 from me. Size restrictions can be annoying at times but allowing unrestricted access would quickly kill of forums like P.net. This one goes into my favourites.

Very striking lines and tones, an excellent shot. I wonder are you using, ND or ND grad filters to get the long exposures - 98sec?

An interesting and imaginative shot, well executed. As a smoker who has been trying to give up for over 40 years, I'll wait and see if it has any effect. :)

Hi David, have you stopped taking your tablets? :) For me, a very disturbing image. I see a good female figure surmounted by two asexual heads - both faces and heads could be male or female if the details were visible - and both look too large to be on the body they are mounted on - no eyes, no mouth, and blocked nostrils?? An inspired, imaginative shot, but I reckon a psychoanalyst would have a field day with it. The more I look at it - the more I like it - so what does that tell you about me?? :) PS. What is the red bit bottom right?
7 from me.

I agree - very good lines and angles - powerful, almost monochrome effect - like this a lot.

Thank you Tony, your comments are always valued.

Thanks Ruud, I've been absent for a while, but now starting to pick up the pieces again.
Andrew.

Hi there Ankit and welcome to Pnet. Just a couple of compositional points. If possible always try and avoid wires crossing the picture. See how the power lines on yours stand out and draw the eye away from the main picture. Very distracting. I am attaching a copy of the picture that I've played with. Firstly, I've converted it to Black & White in post processing and secondly I've removed a section of the wires to the leftwith a clone stamp. I do not know what software you use to process your pictures but most editing programs can do this. A very old chap once told me to try and see beyond the image... to see other possibilities in the pictures I had taken. Hope this helps, looking forward to more of your work.
I Like the shot of the lighters, very good idea.
