Update. I purchased a 503CX and an 80mm CF lens from keh.com. Very happy with the results. I may investigate the idea of a meter knob.

Thank you for the responses. I have visited that site Hasselblad Historical. I have been targeting the 503CW in my mind, but I wanted to know if that was just me wanting the "latest" model.

Am considering jumping in and buying some used stuff. Any of the three bodies seem OK to me (501CM, 503CX, 503CW). Would anyone recommend one over the other?
My use will probably be outdoor, no wedding photography, and likely paired with the 50mm (or 60mm?) or 80mm lens.
Thx,
An update on this. I bought a newer, used A12 back from a local camera store. Shot two rolls on Sunday morning, and everything was great. The light leaks are gone and the film is advancing correctly between frames. Thanks to all who gave previous guidance!
I must admit I am impressed at the clarity and color resolution from a camera and lenses that were likely manufactured 40+ years ago. :)

Thank you for all of the great feedback. I've posted two pictures here:

Some friends are letting me use a 500C that has been sitting in a box for a while (it was a relative's camera).
The body is in reasonable condition, 3 lens in great condition, and A12 and A16 backs in "just OK" condition. I
recently shot two test rolls with the A12 back and noticed two problems.
First, light leaks in from the left on some (not all) of the images. A fellow at a local camera store thought
there is probably worn out "springs" (my terminology here) related to the dark slide, and light is leaking in there.
Second, the film doesn't seem to be advancing consistently between the images. A couple of the test images had
only a little overlap, and some test images had significant overlap.
So my question to the forum is could both of these problems be attributed to the A12 back? I'm asking since I
might make them an offer on the camera, and price accordingly such that I'll acquire a newer A12 back.
Q: what size lens hood for a Distagon 50mm CF FLE (CF50FLE)?
