This works well as a visual pun/conundrum. I really like how this pushes the edge of recognition... the forks are not recognizable as forks at first glance, and appear as way dark forms. I find the scratched and dinged surface of the lower fork to be a little offputting. The context of forms/image doesn't seem to be speaking about the wear and tear on the objects, so that seems to me to be a distraction. Nice theme, looks like it could be an avenue to pursue further.

Nice placement, you've got the lighting on target! If I were to add anything as a downside, it is the blade length appears compressed... (there is a shorter version of this knife that the Air Force uses - interservice rivalry alert!). Compositional motif makes this a self-explanatory product shot (and that's the point, right?).
  1. I spotted this earlier, and had to dig to come back to it. Nice color and contrast range! It wasn't until I clicked onto it for the larger size that I spotted the thin strip of intensely dark land that separates the sea from the distant land and sky. This a very nice image, and I'm very jealous... the only really great sunset I ever got was shot with my sad little Elph 2.3 mp and lots of noise. I'd like to see this in a really large print - a whole different can of worms - but in spite of sunsets being a cliche, this one has enough variety in the sky and is different enough from ordinary to be noteworthy. Since this is in alterations, I'm guessing you boosted the red channel? Or did you play around in Lab color to get here? (presuming you don't mind sharing that info with folks)
