This blue was "made" with Photoshop. I work a lot with the Temperature Color control as with contrast. This was the tone I finally feld well with.

Honest shot: you kept your own limitations - the branches - visible. Cropping was avoided. The white of the feathers is always difficult: could some extra contrast be worth?

Did you use a BW film or did you desaturated the original?

This is an outdoor brickmade stair, with the tradicional blue color of southern Portugal (Europe).

The bad: This is a very frequent theme seen in web photo sites.

The good: You avoid the use of extra FS; good light

The result: A delicate image.

It´s a very simple and honest picture. The only thing that captures one´s eye is the somehow strange main character depicted: the dog. I like it ´though.

For the future you can develop this line of surreal.
