1.
The crowd walking to the stadium in Cape Town last night just kept coming, thousands and thousands of people and only a handful were the lucky ones with a ticket for the stadium. Cape Town was one big party,

00Woq0-257855584.jpg.3b90e839263df94fc8a322b0594d8243.jpg

 2.
This picture was taken outside the Cape Town stadium for the 1st world cu game last friday evening. The crowd was at least double the stadiums capacity but we were there just for the fun of being there.

00WgRb-252379684.jpg.4a5f392c7e779f70b83f8dffd6952f78.jpg

 3.
The Amsterdam ship moored in Hout Bay last week. It is retracing Darwin's voyage around the world and posed for me for a few houts on sunday morning before sailing on to Cape Town.
4.
I have a D300 and sold my 18-70 in favour of the 24-70. It is my most used lens and would not swap it for anything. If at a later stage you upgrade to FF, there'll be no need to upgrade the lenses as well. Buy the lens and enjoy it.

 5.
Thanks guys for your quick reply. I did format the new card in camera but it wasn't that and the pic's on the 1st card were fine. If this happens to anybody else, I found that the picture counter had reached 9999 and had not automatically reset to 1. I reset the counter myself and now the camera is happy to shoot some more. Thanks once again for your help.

 6.
I was shooting the local kids on the beach during a lifesaving lesson this morning and after taking 200 shots exactly, the camera started to flash full. I was shooting JPEG on a Sandisk extreme 3 card, 16-gig. I tried another extreme 4 card, an empty 4-gig but the same happened and the estimated remaining space flashed 'r0' with both cards . I tried a camera 2-button reset but again the same thing. I even tried removing the MD10 and the 2nd battery for a while as well as changing lenses (clutching at straws) but still no luck. I have checked both cards and the camera for bent pins and all looks perfectly fine. What am I missing? Thanks for any help you can give

 7.
I recently purchased an Eson R2880 printer to print B&W and colour photo's. Epson ink is very expensive, so have been looking at various continuous in systems which are a lot more cost effective. There are many opinions on how good or bad they are and I would appreciate opinions from 'owners' of this printer in using a CIS and if you do, which system you use and why. The efillink system seems to be very good but before I go the CIS route, I would like to be as certain as possible that this is the right thing to do. Thanks in advance for your input.

 8.
I have 4 EN-EL3e batteries, all made in japan with the notches in the hologram. 3 of the batteries have the serial No. in the bottom left corner and 1 battery has it in the middle, the same as Shun's 6 battery picture. It may be of interest that 1 was supplied from the UK with my D80, 1 plus a spare for the MD10 supplied from B & H and the other bought in South Africa. All the stickers are the same coulouring as Shun's battery photo.

 9.
Try taking 'VR' lenses instead! Seriousely, a friend of mine takes his gear in a tank bag without problems and has done for several years without incident.

 10.
You may have picked up a hair from the carpet which has become lodged inside the card compartment of the camera and preventing contact. The card terminals may have become dirty or be bent from catching on the carpet. Check and clean the card etc and don't forget to format the card after each download.

 11.
I used to complain about neck ache from carrying a heavy camera and lens for long periods until a friend suggested hanging the strap over my shoulder instead. A simple idea that is very effective and comfortable. Ive never hung a camera around my neck since.

 12.
The 24-70 f2.8 was only released a little over a year ago and so highly unlikely to be replaced any time soon. There was talk of maybe a replacement 70-200 f2.8 but it is all talk and guess-work until Nikon releases anything they produce. Your guess is as good as mine!

 13. 85% of my equipment has been imported into South Africa from B&H, who are a very reliable company. This however was before the recent drop in value of our currency. Before the recent currency changes, friends in the UK didn't find it as viable as I did to import from the USA due to high customs duty. If you need to buy equipment now, I suggest doing your sums before ordering from outside of the UK.
