2.
Hi from York UK,
I hop this link works:
https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=10206187619795064&set=a.1258331744016.2035223.1401321553&type=3&theater
The image is gorgeous but who can you get the light to so tightly just light the face of the bride, its like a Rembrandt lighting technique, gorgeous.
Any technique tips welcome :-)

David

    Hi,
Whilst Ive not had a chance yet to see the exact set up, my colleague has complained the images are suffering from a tonne of reflection. They are photographing metallic tins which are inherently very reflexive. My suspicion is they are pushing too much light onto the tin, the lights are the wrong direction and the back ball is bouncing light back into the light box.
Also they are not using strobe lighting (They are using continuous lighting lamps) which may give further issues (plus there camera exposure settings could be jinxed)
Unfortunately I havent got an example of the type of images they are producing but this link I hope will point to the set up they are using:
https://drive.google.com/file/d/0BxyceKPwsuIqNGtSUnFSSzJRb0k/view?usp=sharing
So my question is please... "When doing product / studio photography of tins that are highly reflective what are the basic guidlines to follow to prevent images bouncing back light"
Thanks in advance,
4.
Hi from 16 degrees C York UK,
I want to sell a picture commercially, it will be a choreographed social commentry image. The important thing is however the image may include 1 to 4 students / models. To protect my self against any of the models retrospectively asking for cash is a model release the best route to take and if yes is there a template / guide i can follow that is relevant to the UK?
Thanks,
5.
Hi from York UK :-)
I have a Nikon D200 & D700. I need a device to deliver time lapse photography projects. Can any one vouch for the: Hahnel Giga T Pro II Remote Control or is there a better product.
Grazie mille,
6.
Hi from 3 degrees C York UK :-)
I need to speed up my album production times, an average album is taking me two days to complete layout & design :-( Currently i use graphi studio software on my Mac and it takes me forever & a day before I hit the buy button.

Is there any software or new approach i could adopt to speed up my production times. Ive tried adding Graphi plugins to Aperture Three but thats not worked. Specifically whats taking me eons is where for example I have 5 images on one page and spend hours fiddling with positioning. I know CEWE albums which are not in the same quality league have fantastic software to build albums, I've used it & I love the re shuffle feature which creates auto layouts for the number of pictures you have.
Having spoke with a local photographer he uses in design and imports layouts, says it takes him max a couple of hours!
Any advice on how to speed up album production much appreciated.
Thanks in advance,
David

  7.
Hi from 1 degrees C wetherby UK :-)
I need to buy a mobile back drop for staff pictures. I love the simplicity of these shots: http://www.mintel.com/meet-the-team

I want to resist buying without expert advice first, so just to re iterate I dont want to do green screen amd the size is for head and shoulders only ( at a push full length) & it has to fit in my car (Passatt) and be tough.
Any advice welcome :-)
Thanks,
8.
Hi from York UK :-)
If i was to buy a picnic blanket to photograph the bride & groom on would i be right is saying a plain mid grey would be best? There a losts of tartans out there (yuk!) but I want to keep it looking clean and i was thinking about mid grey tone so it doesnt create exposure problems.
Any insights welcome :-)
Thanks
9.
Buongiorno from 22 Degrees C Wetherby UK,
I'm wanting to ween my self off Aperture 2 http://www.amazon.co.uk/Apple-MB673Z-A-Aperture-Retail/dp/B000BX5IKI and into photoshop but Ive hit an obstacle.

I love how in Aperture 2 you can edit thumnail pics at the bottom of the screen layout and see an expanded version above, this is layout I'm reting to describe:
http://i216.photobucket.com/albums/cc53/zymurgy_bucket/aperure-layout_zps6e253e67.jpg
But in Photoshop CS5 i just cant replicate this type of fast flow editting. I know I must be missing something. Ive tried fiddling with mini bridge but no luck, i just end up with too many tabs opened :-(
So my question is please:
"How can I replicate the editing workflow in Aperture 2 illustrated here http://i216.photobucket.com/albums/cc53/zymurgy_bucket/aperure-layout_zps6e253e67.jpg in Photoshop CS5"
Grazie tanto,
David

  10.
The Nikon SB 800 speedlight gives me alot of stick of late, in the last year or so its started to randomly fire, just want you dont want on a wedding job :-( I took a hammer to the hot shoe connection out of pure frustration and its behaved alot better ever since un til i bought pocket wizards and low & behold the SB800 started to jerk me around whilst the SB900 caused no problems.
There is something about the SB800 dashboard / screen that just winds me up everytime i use it. One day I really do think I'm going to take the hammer to it big style :-)

  11.
Good morning from York UK :-)
This link points to a pic i really like http://www.chrishanleyphotographyblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/09/barnes0304.jpg But a recent attempts i made of replicating the fun with sparklers type shot got poor results :-(
When taking pictures with sparklers how do you make sure you get enough light on your subjects to see them but not too much light to know out the sparklers?
Any insights welcome,
Grazie tanto,
David
If the link doesnt work please just just and paste this into the address bar:
http://www.chrishanleyphotographyblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/09/barnes0304.jpg

  12.
Hi from York UK :-)
Its an age since ive built a Graphi Studio album & I need some help regarding controlling borders / padding around images.
As the below url illustrates I'm worried left alligned pics get shunted too close to the spine of the album, is there a way to control this?
http://i216.photobucket.com/albums/cc53/zymurgy_bucket/border-looks-tight.jpg
I've looked at the video tutorials and I cant fin the bit that explains how to control padding around images.
Any insights welcome :-)
