Let's cut to the chase. Have you ever cheated on your girlfriend with one of your models? Have you ever thought about it? If the answer is yes to either, then you're kidding yourself with your relationship with your girlfriend.

No of course I have not, the issue just concerns me shooting them.

  2.
Very good advice and questions coming up here, far more than I can respond to! Thanks for all the input though. Today I took her out to the park at our university and we just snapped pictures and I was showing her what's what on the camera and such. She really liked it and said she has always found it interesting but never did anything with it, so I guess I'll go that route and take snippets of advice here and there from you all. Thanks!

  3.
haha Thanks everybody for the funny, and sometimes helpful advice. Just for the record she is my girlfriend, going on just about a year now, not my wife or anything that has had long term substance yet.
And its hard to say how I'd react if roles were reversed, I'm sure if I wasn't into photography and she was I may have a problem, but if she decided to right now I wouldn't. I think I just need to find a way of getting her involved in what I do, or at least show her I can take pictures of other things too.
Thanks for the info though.

  4.
Fantastic idea Harry! I will see what I can do.

@Tim, a lot of what I learn is from the pictures I don't keep. Just little things about lighting, composition, paying attention to hair, clothes, earrings, etc. Just a lot of the little stuff that can distract in a picture. Many of those girls, aside from Terra and Lauren, are from my hometown, a small place where everybody knows everybody so they are friends of family or other friends.

  5.
Greetings all!
I am looking for a bit of advice when it comes to photography and the opinions of your significant other. A large amount of my photography is of women, I love to capture the beauty of the opposite sex. I have explained this to my girlfriend and she still isn't the biggest fan of it, I was curious how many of you more experienced photographers have gone about this in your careers/lives? How do I show her my views or perspectives on this?
Any advice would be helpful. Thanks!
6.
Hello, So I have been doing photography for a few years now and many people really like my photos, but I have

charged nothing to take and edit them. I am slightly worried that if I charge and turn this into something more then a

hobby I may lose that love and dedication to it... if it turns into a "job".

Anyways, I have a few bars in my college town interested in having me shoot for a calendar, and another t

hat wants to me take pictures for an event they will soon be having. My question is... where do I start when it comes t

o pricing? I would only take and edit the pictures, then they would print, but more than likely display them on the w

ebsite or use a few for flyers. So how much do you guys think is fair to charge? Or is there any advice you can give m

e to find how much I should charge and such? Also, I took a few pictures two of the waitresses of a particular bar a

nd they were in an advertisement, and the bar didn't ask me prior and my name was no where on them, what e

xactly are my legal rights to the images?

Any advice on these subjects would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!

  7.
I was just wondering how many pictures you deem usable from a standard photo shoot? I did a recent shoot with a friend and I got about 350-400 pictures form her, and are finding many I do not like, or just didn't turn out the way I wanted, has this happened to you? How many do you usually have in the end?

Thanks!
Sincerely,
Robert

  8.
I've been using my Canon 40D for quite some time and just recently a friend let me barrow theit studio equipment. It's a two light set up, I believe its the Speedotron 805. With this they let me use their Wein SSHSHS Safe-Sync Hot Shoe to Hot Shoe to protect my camera from over powering and fying. He uses the Canon 30D and does have the PC Jack on the side so needs the Safe Sync, do I NEED to use it or is the PC jack sufficient?

  9.
Im rather new to photography and using the editing software. I currently have CS3 and was curious how I could edit my subjects skin tones and such to give them taht flawless picture perfect skin. We've all seen that "before/after" picture in the photography magazines but how do I get it in CS3?
