Thank you all for your response. I do know the diffrerence between image size and resolution of the image. I didn't know the term for "resolution." I knew I was croping my pictures to fit the size needed. I will down load the clone version of the Microsoft Powertoys. I didn't realize you could make a smaller copy of your original photo. Like I said, I"m new to all this language and toys. Thank you all once again. Kristina I like this website and Image Pro.

When I start to crop my pictures I see more pixels on them. I normally have to crop down my pictures to fit the
1500x1500. Somebody told me if I buy Photoshop Elements 7 I wouldn't have to crop my pictures. Is this true?
Some of you take awesome photos and you put the whole picture on the critique form. Unfortunately, I can't do this
yet. Help. I would like to add more photos but there to big. I use mostly film and sometimes a cheap ditigal.

Hello Nance,
I'm new to the forum. Do not worry about your equipement. I've been told it's not the equipement which makes a photographer. It's how good you are. My two cameras were free along with my lenses. Unfortuately, two of my lenses aren't so good anymore. My one lense has a hair in it and sometimes it shows up on my pictures. I recently bought a used cheap camera off of ebay. I don't have alot of money right now either. Good luck

I'm so new to this site. I'm game for any type of improvement. I did realize your picture could get lost very quickly down at the bottom of the page. I can't wait to check it out. Good Job, Josh

One of my pictures ended up in a flyer for Temple University! I recently took a course through them in my area C2P2.
It's for parents who have children with disabilites and have IEP for their children. They requested people to send in
pictures for a new flyer coming out. They chose my photo. I don't get paid for this but I thought it was a step in the
right direction.

Robin,
I have posted questions similiar to your questions about my soccer league. I'm getting ready to set up a table at our local games/practices to show what I have to offer. I offer cds, storybooks, and pictures. What do you mean by "kickback". The league isn't paying for my services the parents or team will be paying me for my work.
-
All of you have given such good advice. I"ve been real concern about the board's decesion and a table at the games.
I like the idea of setting up a table at the practices. Practices are schedule everynight at certain times and nights. I
could set up a table but make sure from the borough it's ok or if I need a premit. I plan on having my laptop with a
slideshow, samples of my cd and plenty of photos. One coach has already given out my information. I can't afford to
go to the games to take photos due to the fact I have film. So, having the coach or parent paying me prior would be
a necessary. My film turn around is appox 24hrs. We have two local areas who do an excellent job. I'm one of the
fortuante ones. I'm only planning to have a few number of teams because this is my first year and I don't want to get
overwhelmed. I emailed you folks for some advice prior to the first meeting, after when the board had legal questions
then found out I had permission. Our season has just begun and will be over at the end of Oct.
-
Hello to All,
I have permission to set up a table at the soccer fields. However, I will not be taking photos on the days I set up. I
will have model release forms for parents who chose not to have their child photographed. I will, also have model
release forms for parents who don't want their child on my website. I was informed by the league to be COPA
complaint. However, I emailed the person back stating this is a violation of the first and fitfh amendament. Although, I
don't want to make people mad, I will get the parents permission to put the photos on the website. If their is no
permission. I will not put the photos on. I will have flyers about my prices and examples of my work. Any opinion out
there about starting a business this way? How would you feel about going to your child's game and seeing a table
promoting this opportunity? I'm nervous.

I'm also looking at one on ebay. I'm looking for a camera to take faster sport action photos. I like the price but I'm not sure between Canon EOS 1V, T2 or this PZ1. It won't go with my other Pentax lenses but I've purchased a AF 70-300mm recently. This partiuclar doesn't come with a lense. So, I would only have one lense to fit it. Most people seem to recommend the Canon EOS to get my sport event pictures the others say the T2 would be fine. This is all confusing.
-
Thank you all for you advice. I recently bought a 70-300mm to get the action photos I want. However, I got sea sick from the commition of the veiwfinder in my camera. I have alot more research to do and I'm going to start today. I'm not purchasing the T2 because I want to buy the right camera for me. However, I did purchase a old pentax automatic shutter to get some more frame shots of the ball going into the goal or over the goal. Now, I'm afraid that is going to be slow for the frame shots I want. This is hard with so little money to go around.
Rainer, I need a good laugh!

I'm still using film for my pictures. I"m thinking about getting a ditigal eventually, but not now. I'm thinking between
the Canon EOS 1V or the T2 Rebel. I did see an article from 2005 about the Canon EOS 1V being more complicated
and not for the use of amateurs. What are your thoughts? I have an opportunity to purchase an T2 Rebel for $125
with a 28-90 lense. The Canon EOS 1V is still out of my price range. Should I wait and purchase an EOS down the
road? I want to use both film and ditigal eventually.

1) write clearly in your questions and answers. 2) trying to understand f10,f20 and 20d. 3) photographers have their own language 3) there's alot of photos to critique 4) could spend your life critiqueing others work. 5) most love digital but some use film. 6) Most seem to know one other (I'm new)

What about free webs? My sister sent me a website called www.members.freewebs.com. They seem to have alot of choices. Any opnion on this? Thank you, Kristina

Many of you might get upset because this question I posted, is simliar to the question in the other forum. My apologizes. I did a google search about websites and the only question was from three agos. Once again, my apologizes.

I thought image pro was a public website for us to promote our business. As I found out through my last question it
is not. I did try to change my log in ID, now I have two IDs. I couldn't cancel the first one. At least I didn't find it.
However, since it's not for public use, in the sense for me to advertise in my area. What websites do you professional
photographs use? I'm taking the next six months to perfect my work, get a bettter camera and learn the business
end of the deal. I'm going to post pictures of my boys playing football and soccer. I'm going to offer the storybooks
and pictures to the parents of their teams. I can upgrade my account throught paypal to accept credit cards.
Sincerely, Kristina

William, I'm so new to this website, I can't help you. I thought imagepro was for the public to view. Appearantly, it's private for us to see only. I've tried to change my login ID to my name. It worked yesterday, but today my family nor I can access Image Pro. I"m not internet nor tech savy.

If you guys don't use imagepro to adverstise you work. What websites do you guys like to use? I've decide to take another year to work out all these kinks, unless the board gets back to me. (I'll gladly take money) LOL I'm going to take the course and keep practiceing with my children and get better cameras. I'm really interested in starting a website. I've started with image pro but people can't seem to access it and I can't tonight.
Thanks for say the guy in my area won't bite. I was thinking of contacting him once I found out who he was. I was even thinking of seeing if I could be a inter with a photograph. However, the one guy who I did contact twice, never returned my phone calls. I haven't given up on that idea.

Thank you all for replying to my question. I am frustated and it's nice to know there's other people out there. I'm glad you have to take 2 steps back to move 1 foot forward. I guess then I'm getting ready to move 1 step forward. I can't affored to make many more mistakes. Melissa, your right about getting back to my creativety. I was getting focused on the tech, business, and all the termalogoly of photography. So, during my son's football practices. I simply enjoyed taking photos of the team. Plus, took very close up photos. I'll see how they turn out tomorrow.
Harry, your right about staying away form the ratings. Ouch. S. Spencer, I did have to let go of some of pictures for my website on imagepro. I realized I have to put my best on there and it turned out not to be alot because some of the sizes were to big to fit in here.
Thank you,
Kristina

Is there anybody new to this site and feels lost? I'm thankful to the many who have answered my questions about
soccer. Yet, I still feel lost. Most of my work comes right out of the camera. I know very little about photoshop or
anyother program out there. Has anybody try harder to take better pictures but realize they are getting worse? It
seems the more I try, the more I screw up.
Now, I'm trying harder and practicing more specially with my boys sports practices. I'm getting closer in and focusing
on the children faces or action. I do believe it's from this website. Seeing such awesome quality and clearity of the
pictures.
Has anybody had this problem instead of going forward going backwards? I'm thinking of enrolling in the NYIC
course.

Thank you all for anwering my question. Alan, you are right about there wanting to be "legal eagle wannabes." I thought the COPA didn't apply here and a password website. However, national does require a password website. There is a local who goes to certain football games. Hands out flyers at the end of the game. He posts the pictures to his website for anybody to buy. I heard he's expensive. Here say or whatever, they want me to jump through hoops. So, one thing I did see in Alan's emails..is I need the soccer board permission to take photos of the games. Why isn't it a parent's or team decesion if they want to hire a professional to take pictures? It seems to me then I will have to make sure to have permission from every sport board before going?

First, thank you for answering my post. I wasn't complaining, I'm trying to figure out how to use this site and Image Pro. Josh, I hadn't realize K4jjjw was the name to look under. I thought is was Kristina Kula-Wright. I must of done something wrong. Hence, I'm I missing something. I thought the logged in page to Image Pro was private, so I used a coed name. Now, I see I have to fix the name.
Also, to Peter thank you on that information. I'm new to the internet. I didn't put much information in.

Image Pro adverstises an website for us to use to promote our business and photos. We only need a subscription
with photo.net. Does anybody realize they promote it as your-name.photography.com and found it not to work? I'm
a new member with a subscription. I was working on the site. To my amazement, when I asked my husband to look
up this website, it didn't come up except my posting, questions, and pictures on photo.net. I don't like the idea
anybody can get this information. I thought this was a members club. Where the privacy? Finally, I googled image
Pro and saw an example from three years ago to type as follows:
www.imagepro.photography.com/kristinakulawright
I don't mind people seeing somethings but I thought my workspace was private. I'm I missing something?

Thank you Craig, I answered your other email also. The board is waiting on the national level for more information. They did mention I will need a COPA(child online proctection Act) on my website if I offer this. However, I think it's going to be a no because the board is concern this opens the door to other parents wanting endorsed. I told them I didn't want to be endorsed by them but give the opportunity to the parents. So, I suggested it might be easier for me to advertise in our local paper and let parents call me. Sincerely, Kristina
-
Maybe your right. I was thinking or $50 of one particular child if the parents wanted only their child. Then if the team wanted me to take pictures of the all team then there would be discounts on the CD and it would be 72 photos for less then $50. However, I was also trying to sell team storybooks without the price of a CD. Where I could come in take photos of the all team then put the pictures into a 7x5 book riced from $95-55 depending on how many order. A book 11x8 priced at $145-100 depending on how many order. Each book as 20 pages. The more people who order books less they have to pay. Then if they saw a photo they liked I would charge $4 4x6. If they wanted or have a website with my photos on of the games.
Sincerely,
Kristina
