  1. I think you need the falls and the rainbow in the picture, so I wouldn't crop it.

Geraldine, the boat actually gets closer that what you see. You do get pretty wet on it, but as far as I know, they have never had a problem as the Captains are pretty experienced.

  2. Yes, it is similar to your shot, except I was on the tower above where you took yours. You are limited to which lens you use up there since you have to shoot through the chain link fence. If I recall, it was 10 seconds. I did bracket, but only by one stop and they all came out almost the same, but could have been the color correction. I forget to let them know I was bracketing.

Thnaks Mary, stood there a long time waiting for them to use multiple spots rather than just one color.

  3. Living as close to the falls as i do, I have taken a lot of pictures of the falls. I agree 100 film would be better. I think the out of focus look can also be partly due to the mist. A bit more to the left getting more of the falls itself would have worked also. When I go, I usually set the focus to infinity. I do have a few pictures posted here, and would love feedback and comments as well. I am very amatuer, and only been doing it for a year or so.
  4. Thanks. I took many shots to get these few shots. I figured if I could get a good shot in an extreme dark area with massive light, it would help me to learn lighting better.
  5. I wouldn't hang either on my wall... To my untrained unprofessional eye, they are both lacking. (maybe my shadow should have been darker and blocked more?) I posted it to prove a point, and never was I knocking anyones work. Just as the rest of you did, I stated an opinion... but opinions are like ass****, everyone has one.

I am sorry you felt that my comments were directed to you.
