1.
I have the latest in iPhoto and in aperture. I go to do the import thing that was said to do and aperture does not even let me click on the .CR2 format pictures. I ran my software update there is nothing else to update. Do I need to change a setting on the camera so that these apps can read it?
2.
I am having trouble with any photo editing software being able to read my canon 40D raw files. I have iphoto that should be able to read it. I have even bought aperture and photoshop and both are unable to read the files. If photoshop can not read the files I don't know what will. Even the Canon software that came with the camera called "raw image task" can not read it. The only software that can read it is "Canon photo professional" and to save it I need to make it a tiff or jpg and I don't want to do that. I want to be able to maintain my raw files. Any help with what is wrong or is that just way it is.

  3. I was just on the Canon website and I was reading the features and the very last one on the list said that both EF/EF-S lens will work. I

know that it is a full frame camera so is that a typo or is there something new that will allow for EF-S lens. But that was not the only place.

in the specs it said that it has a 1.6x lens factor on the lens compatibility section. Canon is making a lot of mistakes on the specs pages.

  5. Thursday I was shooting my sons football game. I am right on the field so I am close to the action. I have a 40D and a 24-105L but the

reach is just not enough. So I was thinking about getting a tele. The 70-200 2.8 IS sounded really nice and I really do like the 2.8 so I

would not go for the f/4 models of the 70-200. but I am worried about the reach. so I was thinking maybe the 100-400. The reviews are

that the 100-400 wins hands down to the 70-200 2.8 IS but I am not sure if I want to give up the 2.8 The 2.8 makes the lens more versatile

but the extra reach and the cheaper price of the 100-400 makes me go for the other. Please help me out with this. any reviews,

comments or suggestions would be appreciated.

I have had the 70-300 in the past but don't anymore. but I really did not like how slow the focusing was and how soft it was. So I would like

to keep it in the L family. I just love the IQ and the focusing speed of the L family.

    Thanks

  6. I shoot just jpeg. but that was it. I had high ISO noise reduction on. but why should that make a difference when I am not

shooting at high ISO? I am shooting at 100 or 200. but I thought that it would only kick in at 1000 or above? thanks it is

    shooting continuously now.

  7. I just bought my 40D two weeks ago, and then just finding out that it is replaced with the 50D, that made me a little mad but that is a

different story. I do sports photo so I need a fast camera. I use my rapid fire a lot. I was out doing wakeboarding shots on Friday and the

camera would take six shots in a row at 6 fps then switch to 3 pfs. This is very bad because the boarder is in the air then it misses all the

shots of the last half the the trick. I had a 30D before and it could do 56 frames in a row at 5 fps. now the 40D and only do 6. there has to

be a problem. I am using the same card as the 30D so it is not the card. the card is a sandisk Extreme III 4 GB. I dont have the money

to buy a mark for the 10 fps. So when I found out that the 50D came out I was thinking that it might be able to handle the pictures

because it has a UDMA card reader in it.

    so any comments would help.

    thanks

  8. A few months ago my 30D got stolen and the insurance has paid me in full. I had an 17-55 lens on it so they gave me money for that too.

So I have a check from the insurance company for $1700. My question is should I buy a 5D with that or should a buy a 30D again, which i

have found for $600, and buy some great glass with the left over money and wait to upgrade to the new 5D when it comes out. I already

have a 24-105L and a 580 II flash but they were not in the bag when it got stolen.
