I go to College of DuPage in Glen Ellyn, IL. It has a very good program and it has an articulaton agreement with Columbia College in Chicago, which a previous poster rightly praised. Check it out at http://www.cod.edu/photo and let me know if you have any other questions.

Henry,

Thanks for the sample photos and your review. I have been looking for a permanent lens for my *infrared* D30 (permanent because it is impossible to clean the IR filter safely, so I want a lens that I will never have to remove). The reasons I think I will like this lens:

* It is quite reasonably priced
* I will only shoot at f11 or slower (due to focusing irregularities of IR light) so its sharpness should be quite acceptable.
* It has a wide focal length range, including the all-important wide-angle coverage.
* Color is not an issue with b&w IR.

Thanks again for taking the time to share your thoughts.

Sorry for the late reply, I just stumbled upon this thread. I think Michael Chang has provided about the best solution you will find for your wife. Sunpak makes a relatively inexpensive but reliable LANC controller that has given me years of use with my Sony 717.
Also, if your wife has trouble viewing the LCD screen or looking through a viewfinder, most (if not all) of the Sony cameras mentioned above have a video out jack, which will give her a live preview on a television, LCD monitor, or even a portable DVD player.
Best of luck with the project, I makes me happy to hear that you are giving photography back to her!
