1.
Has anyone used and/or still using StackShot from Cognisys for Frame Stacking in Macro/CloseUp photography to increase DOF?
I'd love to hear the Good, the Bad and the Ugly...
Thank you...

 2.
I am new to Macro/Close Up Photography.
I have E-30 as well as E-510 camera with the variety of lenses.
One of these lenses is Zuiko 14-42mm ED lens. I've also recently purchased Extension Tube X-25.
I'm evaluating whether Zuiko Standard 35mm Macro (with or without the Extension Tube) will provide better quality Macro/Close Up images comparing to Zuiko 14-42mmED coupled with the Extension Tube X-25.
I also have Sigma 105mm DG lens but I am looking for a lens that will allow me to get closer to my subjects than Sigma allows (12.3'').
I'd appreciate any insights to point me to right direction.
Thank you.

 3.
I have been trying to get the Metz Flash Unit to work as a Slave via Wireless RC Flash Option on E-30 without any success.
I have set the RC ON on the Camera with TTL (Group A). I set the Mode on the flash unit to TTL. I tried the Camera setting both in Aperture and Manual Modes with the Metz Units Sensor for Cordless Remote Control facing the built-in flash unit on the camera as per instructions but the Metz Unit never fires.
I have updated the firmware of Metz to 3.1.
The Flash Unit works in the hot shoe as well as with a remote cable but just not as wireless.

I'd love to hear any suggestions to help me out.
I thank you for your time in advance.

 4.
I thank you for your insights...I understand the overwhelming bias against LR and PS (especially for pro work) which I agree that might be the best tool. I am, however, an amateur and really don't have too much time to put into PS to become an expert. I have tried/evaluated Nik Software plug-ins such as Viveza v2 as well as Aperture v3 and I have to admit that I learned Masks, Layers...within a matter of hours not spending days. I am just trying to combine the best of these easy to use tools with a powerful LR, if possible...There are perhaps no die-hard Mac users with Mac only tools on this forum and perhaps not too many of you see the value of Nik Plug-ins which I understand but I am just curious if there is anybody in my shoes...Thank you all.

 5.
I am just wondering whether anyone has created a workflow combining Adobe LR, Aperture and some of the Plug-Ins from Nik Software (DFine, Viveza v2, Color FX...). I know that you can perhaps accomplish any image editing with only one of these software products but I like the fact that there are unique 'ease of use' advantages in some of these that I would very much want to take advantage of.
If there are people out there working in hybrid workflows; here are couple of questions;
1) Which of the 2 (LR or Aperture) do you start with as your main repository for the initial import of RAW images from the camera and what are the 2-3 advantages of your choice over the other?
2) If you are starting with Aperture how do you bring the other External Editors in to your workflow when Aperture only allows one-dedicated External Editor from within its Preference Setup?
As always, thank you very much for your valuable insights...

 6.
I have both e-30 & e-510 (mostly as a back up) with the following lenses which I use primarily for Landscape (vast open vistas as well as tiny landscapes... very close to being almost an abstract) and Travel/Street photography as a hobby.
Here are my current lens configuration;
Olympus 9-18mm 4-5.6 ED
Olympus 14-54mm 2.8-3.5 II
Olympus 40-150mm 4-5.6 ED***
Olympus 14-42mm 3.5-5.6 ED* (I hardly use this stock lens)
Sigma 105mm 2.8 DG MACRO EX
I also have an Olympus 2X Teleconverter.
What I am wondering whether it makes sense to replace my Olympus 40-150mm which I tend to use whenever I go out for a hike, bike ride and/or strolling around the streets when I travel all around the world with something better?
I've been looking into Zuiko 50-200mm ED 2.8-3.5 SWD but I am not quite sure how much this lens is better than my 40-150mm for the price difference. I am also ok with other 3rd party lenses as long as they are made for Olympus four-thirds and take advantage of everything available within the cameras.
I thank you in advance for your valuable suggestions.

 7.
I purchased Metz 48 flash for my Olympus e-30 and e-510 with the great insights some of you provided me with.
I have couple of more questions;
1) Is there a particular brand that you would recommend for wireless triggers? I am aware of Pocket Wizard but seems to be quite pricey. What are my other options?
2) Is there any reason to get a PC Cord if I have a wireless trigger?
3) Are the optical triggers (Manufacturer Wein) useful and/or will be an alternative to wireless?
I primarily use flash in the studio (small one in my basement) for objects (various sizes between 18"-20").
Thank you very much...

 8.
I am an amateur photographer and trying to start up a small studio in my basement for shooting small (not bigger than 18") products for non-profit purposes.
I have Olympus E-30 Camera with variety of lenses.
What would be the best way to equip the studio? I am sure that I am not probably asking the right questions but any suggestion and/or pointing me in the direction of a source would be greatly appreciated. Thank you...

 9.
If anyone using Samsung SyncMaster XL2370 and calibrating with Spyder3Elite...Please read on.
I am using this monitor as an external monitor to my Dell XPS Laptop. I use LR2 for photo editing and here are couple of questions that I have been struggling with to get them resolved.
1) My workspace is rated 'Moderately Low' by Spyder3Elite. When I start Spyder with Gamma 2.2 and 6500K the Luminance that I end up with is around 250 which is too bright and cold for my taste. If I try 2.2 and 5000K-5800K ranges, it does get little warmer but still too bright (Luminance around 203). I have also tried 2.2. and Native but I cannot seem to get anything lower than 190. I'd like to get down to 120s, how would I do that? If I force 2.2 and 120 calibration ends with a warning/error stating that I need to change.
2) The Video board on XPS is NVDIA. Spyder seems to allow me to create 2 profiles, one for Laptop LCD and one for External Monitor (Samsung). I read somewhere that I need 2 different video boards to support distinctly separate profiles. Is this true? I seemed to have no problem getting the laptop calibrated the way I want which is different than the struggle that I brought up in my 1st question for Samsung.
I really appreciate any help someone can provide who is familiar with my kind of set up.
Thank you.

 10.
It took me 1 phone call to Olympus...They are replacing the camera with a brand new one. What a delightful customer experience! I have not been an Olympus customer for long but they have definetly won me as a lifetime customer with their professional and speedy service.
In the meantime, I thank you all for your quick responses to my posting.
Have a happy and safe holiday season...

 11.
Using the viewfinder. I have SanDisk Extreme III CF (8GB).
I actually do not experience any problem in writing when I am in Dallas and/or indoors. It seems that the cold temparature is the only time. I have also called Olympus and they are doing a research.

 12.
I have recently (6 months ago) switched to E-30 from E-510. I do have 3 spare batteries (BLM-01) (2 of them are brand new) that I keep fully charged all the time. I have not noticed the battery life until I started to use the camera in Colorado in the last 30 days. Even if I keep the camera in the car or in house during composition, I can hardly take 3 pictures with one battery when I mounted on the tripod when the weather temparature is around 30F. I shoot RAW and use remote control (wired one not the wireless). It seems to be taking a way too long a time to have the picture written on the card once I tripped the shutter as opposed to the experience that I have had in normal temparatures even with the 1st picture. After the the third one, camera shots itself off and I need to replace the battery. Any idea and/or recommendations will greatly be appreciated.
Thank you very much.

 13.
I'm in the process of upgrading my external 20 inch Dell Monitor which is like a 1st generation monitor from the 2oth century!!!!
I am wondering whether some of you professional photographers could please share your point of view for the best 24 to 30 inch monitors in the market for photography without needing to mortgage my house. I am not a professional photographer but spend endless hours of taking pictures and editing them with Adobe Photoshop. By the way, my PC is a year old high-end Dell laptop.
I thank you very much in advance...
