Mark, thank you very much, what a thorough review! I was suprised that someone took his tme to respond to this photo by posting such a long explanantion.

Well, after some days as I look at the picture I agree with most of your critical remarks (cropping off the right side, left had, foreshortening, mascara/eyeliner). I have gone through your post two or three times making notes in my memory, trying to analyze what went wrong and what should be done to do better next time. Information that you provided is food for thought and for me it is very important to have it.

The strange catchlight is just a reflection of the sky as the portrait was shot outdoors without any strobes, reflectors, etc.
