  1. i love this shot... i'd love it more if the third guy (standing) weren't in it... also, i hope you used the widest aperature possible so that the background is as soft as it could be to make the swimmers really pop out of the shot.... GOOD WORK!

i hope this kid looks as cute to you as he does to me... i enjoyed taking this

with the trusty old NikonFE using IlfordDelta3200... not sure i like the way i

cropped it... i tried leaving the extra room at the top to (a) make him look as

small as he is and (b) show the reflection of the bathtub to clearly show that

he is sitting in a tub.

i hope you like it... i'd appreciate your feedback and thoughts.

    thanks!

  2. i looooove this shot... my only wishes are that the focus on the black dog could have been sharper and that you could edit out the red leash... other than that, it's great! i really love the composition, too!!! good work!
  3. very nice... you've got waaaay more patience than i would to hang out and wait for a shot like this one... i read that it's natural light, but it looks very bright on the flowers to the right... i'd like to see you either crop those flowers out or slightly brighten up the butterfly... but even as is it looks great... good work!

just looking for some feedback on this shot of my son... i love the crisp

shadow from the harsh sunlight... shoulda tried a couple of different angles,

but he didn't stand there for too long!

    any feedback/critiques would be appreciated!

    thanks,

  4. i was thrilled to see that i managed to capture this mommy/baby moment and

got one eye in focus for each of them... it's always a bonus for me if/when i get

an unposed shot where they're looking at the camera... it makes you feel like

part of the moment when you're viewing the photo, right?

is the limo in the BG distracting? do you like the framing of the 2 of them?

i'd love to hear some thoughts... THANKS!

i reeeeeally like this shot... i'd even spend some time trying to brush out the leash... i'm confused by your tech info... was this taken with a digital camera or on film? it's definitely not on HP5 (b+w), but i really like the colors... just curious how it was captured.

    good work!

i looooove this photo... but if i were going to be the perfectionist that i am, i would have tried to include a couple of the other adult fingers in the frame... it's not really too big an issue, but the more i look at this shot, the more it bothers me that there's only one "big" finger and no other signs of the hand to which it's attached. just a thought : )

so there's this big mural where i work and i was testing out my

new T3 and i end up with this shot... it's hard to take credit for

anything appealing about it and, as the photographer, it's not a

particularly fulfilling photograph... but i still think it's an

    interesting image.

    thoughts?

    thanks,

  5. i like this photo a lot... the colors and composition are really nice. the title leads me to believe that the photographer doesn't know this person, but the tightness of it and lack of other information in the frame makes me think that you do, indeed, know him. doesn't matter one way or the other -- it's still a nice photo!

  6. i always have trouble capturing the scope of an orchestral

recording session because the room is so big and spread-out,

but i really like this shot... is it too busy?... does the symmetry of

the gear help or hurt the composition?

    appreciate your thoughts!

LaDawna -- thanks for the feedback... i agree that the lamp is distracting and will mess around with some crops...

Chris -- thanks for taking the time to darken the background and re-upload it... maybe i'll try to mask the whole background out and just have a little floating guy!

    thanks again,

i think this picture is really helped by the reflection in the mirror

(i.e. without it, it would have been significantly less interesting)...

    what do YOU think?!

    thanks,

not to be redundant on this site, but there's just something classy, classic and timeless about these kinds of portraits of kids using TriX-Pan... this one is nicely composed (and a cute subject doesn't hurt either!).
