Hi Everyone,
I had my first portrait shoot last weekend, (fortunatly I have lots of family to practice on) and I have a question about post processing. I
have a picture that my cousin really loved, however there is a strand of hair in her face. I'm pretty new to photoshop, is there an easy way to
remove the strand and leave the light in her eyes? I know I can use the clone tool on her forehead, but once it gets into her eyes I have
difficulty erasing it. Please be specific or show an example! Thank you so much

(Moderator's note: Title changed from "shooting large format" to more accurately reflect the actual question. Large format photography refers to the use of sheet film, typically 4x5 and larger in size.)

I recently bought a Canon Rebel XSI, and I love it. However, when I download the pictures onto my computer, they
are huge! I have been doing a lot of portrait work lately, and its taking up tons of memory on my computer. Should I
adjust my camera settings so I am not shooting in large format? Or just resize them on the computer? (However the
ones that I resized seem really pixilated because I am going from thousands of MP to just a couple hundred) Do
most people shoot in such a large format for portraits? Help! Thanks!

Westmorland Park in SE portland can be a great place to shoot kids. Johnson Creek and Tideman Creek both run
through the park and are shallow and slow moving with lots of ducks. Just bring some stale bread and they will
come swarming!! There are a few small bridges that span the creeks and there are trees along the banks of the
creek that add some great scenery to the picture (although it's a little early for them to be changing colors yet).

I know that around here (Portland,OR) the photos have to be in to the high school by the beginning of October, so most students use August and September for their shoots...

You could concentrate on getting good candid shots of the bride/groom and guests. After taking all the posed shots, it's sometimes nice to have those "in the moment" photos. Walk around a bit and take individual photos of the b/g and guests while they talk and enjoy the day.

I am thinking about entering a local photo contest about interesting local architecture. I was looking at last years
winners and all the photo's were of local homes. Is is ok to shoot local houses from a public street without the
consent of the owner? Or do I need to ask first? I live in Portland, OR. Thanks for all your input!
