Really like this image. It has good depth and geometry. Also shows that one doesn't need a fancy camera eh, Supriyo?

Great potential here with the wall but surely more is needed otherwise it is just the artwork that is being recorded. I have done the same in the past with wall art and my efforts suffer the same problem. maybe that woman very close up would do it or some other figures. Sorry to appear negative. Just trying to be constructive. Best regards, Patrick.

I really like this shot; it asks many questions of the viewer and has very pleasing structure. Well done Chris.
  1. I'd kill the bottom third as one has to ask: do we really need the reflection of the mast enough to keep all that dull grey area spoiling a great shot?

Just a thought; I could be wrong. Still a good picture.

    Best,

    Patrick

  2. have I not seen this before? How is it only got 14 views? This is a fantastic image and brilliantly composed. The foreground looks like folded and bleached papier-mache and the background is a raging tyrannical sea. Only just noticed the car since Drew mentioned it. How and wow.

    Cheers,

tones, really well handled and a delight at which to gaze. Love the way that you have kept the underwater alive and fringed the top of the shot with the far bank. I would burn-in the top right hand sky a little just to hold it together. I would then hang on the wall; excellent and well done.

  3. does not quite work for me. I've looked carefully and it seems rather unbalanced (not always a bad thing). The block of rock on the RHS destroys the horizontal sweep of the strata and can definitely be lost and the blank sky needs some cloud as it is flat. Maybe it was not the best time of day to take this as the shadows are harsh. If I was taking a shot here I would ask myself what am I going for? Is it a record of the place? is it the strata? Is it the crazy shadows? Photographing on Mars can be problematic.

    Cheers,

and I agree with Mark regarding the vignetting; it subtracts from a good image. Well taken though and you could always re-work it if you wanted.

    Cheers,

    Patrick
