Beautiful light and very nice composition

Michael,
Nice shot, great eyes. However, I might try cropping even tighter. Drop everything below the point of his nose. Of course this produces an unusual format, but makes his eyes even more complelling.

Tom, I have to agree with one of the other comments - we don't know this guy, he looks like an average run of the mill type of guy. The sun in his eyes (even with the shades) seems to make him smirk. Aside from all of the above I prefer a little more contrast, the print seems a little muddy to me. All-in-all though the ratings are low.

Cedar,
This photo stood out in this folder. I agree with one of the other comments - it's a very well done unposed portrait. And I also agree that a slightly larger size would be better. The only negative comment I have is it might be a little better if the shoulder of the nearest woman was burned in a bit more. Otherwise a great photo.

An absolutely beautiful photograph. The colors are wonderful as well as the composition.

Great composition and exposure. It also has what I believe is one of the essential components of a good photograph - that is to get the viewer to think about what's happening.

Amy,
I like this photo very much. The scene is so lonely it's spooky. Just thinking of taking those steps up into that inky blackness gives me the willies.

I like it. It's especially interesting when viewed in context with the rest of that folder.

This is one of my favorites - a beautiful composition and excellent printing. The picture contains a combination of both strength and delicacy.
