4.
Thanks for the good feedback, guys. I realize with the 10fps of the 1D Mark III, it's an obvious choice for sports photographers (assuming the AF is up to snuff). Was hoping to hear some more about it's other capabilities...unless nobody really uses it for applications other than sports photography.

 5.
Was wondering if professional/serious amateurs owners/users of the 1D Mark III could weigh in on a few questions. In your experience, have you found problems with the AF system, and if so, have they been remedied? Have you printed poster size prints from your files, and if so, how would you describe the image quality? Do you think there is a major difference, in terms of general image quality, between a full frame sensor and the APS-H sensor found in the 1D Mark III? Are you satisfied with 10 megapixels in terms of the camera and your work with it, whether studio, landscape, street, etc.? Do you think the camera handles low light well, in terms of its AF performance and noise characteristics at higher ISOs? Do you believe it's worth the cost, whether new or used?

Sorry for the barrage of questions, but, besides the AF issues, I can't seem to find a lot of information out there concerning photographers' practical experience with this camera. I tried renting the camera at a local Calumet, but they didn't even have one (although I did get to handle one, and loved the feel of it). I'm curious because I'm looking to upgrade my current equipment (Nikon APS-C cameras, lenses), and have been looking at a few Canon and Nikon offerings--specifically, the D3 and D700, and the 1D Mark III and 5D Mark II. I'm not partial to either company, and since I'll probably have to purchase new glass as well, I figure I can start from scratch. Also, I'd like to keep my camera purchase in the $3,000 range or so (less is always better, of course). I have a new photography business and do studio work as well as location work, with a lot of low light photography mixed in for good measure.

Thanks for your help.
