I guess you would have to buy the module, viewfinder 100% of a 1.3 sensor. unlike 98% of a 1.6 as in the 7 d

forgot to say, i brought a 10d from ebay, lenses 50 1.4 and 17-40 f4 lens. both work excellently with this camera

go to your local camera store, test a few then you will know. I guess i am to obvious here

5d full frame, new shutter its not going to cost to much on a 1d you get it for around £80-£120. my 1d has a CCD sensor i believe (who really cares) so dont worry about that to much either. Just have some good glass. I brought mine second hand from ebay..

yes a 17-40 f4 L works well on a 10D as well as a 1D,

what an annoying question :) toss a coin on brands. Let price govern the brand models but then again if your rich which one, oh dear.... use the alphabet to decide, paper and scissors, names in a hat,

just a quick point which has not been made is the quality of the lens. most of the time i now use a canon L series 17-40 f4. The Dof, Sharpness and over all picture quality on my canon 1d/ CCD 1.3 sensor /4 megapixel camera is better on most modern 1.6 8-12 mexapixel cameras you can buy today.
don't worry about pixels so much but try and get the biggest sensor and the best glass you can afford.
I brought mine second hand as well. DOF is controlled by the F stop. I recomend you buy a full frame or a 1.3 sensor you will not regret it.

I have just got hold of a 1d from ebay for £300, 2 days in and more than happy with test results. Auto focus excellent even with a cheap Tokina lens.
Just would to ask a question regarding flash guns, I know Canon units are considered the best units for the 1D but I was wondering if anyone has used Metz flash guns on EOS systems and would they recomend their use. To be honest I am looking for a flash unit which is compatible with the 1d and gives good results and is a reasonable price.
Well I think thats it and thanks inadvance for any help

Out of curiosity...why do you think Canon sticks with 1.3x?

you do NOT GET ANY EXTRA REACH ON A 1.3 or 1.6 Sensor, just a smaller field of view. Also if you use cheaper lens then you get less fall off on the edges with a 1.3 or 1.6 sensor. 200 mm is 200mm regardless of the sensor.
