  1. <p>"Today she wrote to tell me that they really want those photos and it's very important to them to get them. <strong>I won't budge on that</strong> "<br>

Why wont you budge on that ? The client didnt say they wanted to re-edit,alter,crop your pictures. She just wanted to use them for her wedding book. Wow that is such a unreasonable request. What was she thinking ?<br>

I'm sorry my comment offended you, but the fact you REFUSE to even consider helping her out just because you <strong>" NEVER give unedited photos " </strong> is silly and just makes you look greedy. I hate to break it to you but your pictures are not special. You are one of millions photographer she could have hired to do this. She choose you for a reason. She must have liked something, now with you not willing to budge at all on this just ruins the way she thinks about you. So you give her a disc, whats the worst thing that could happen ? She creates a book of pictures her guests see at the wedding and LOVE. And in turn ask her who took those great pictures and you get more clients ? Wow that is risky.... I wish she knew before hand how unreasonable you are before doing the shoot. That way she could have found another photographer she liked who would be happy to throw in a disc of all the pictures.</p>

  2. <p>Like I said its EASY for you George to say fight it. Your not the one at risk, and you have no clue what this groom will do in court. Who knows the grooms firm could have tons of friends in the legal system including judges and lets pretend he loses in court on some loop hole he is able to find in the contract, and Kacy is ordered to return the $200 and then court cost and attorney fees. Which could end up being well over $1000. Wow good advice ! thats worth it. Just because you have a signed contract dosent guarantee you will win in court. Anything can happen.<br>

Kacy, make sure you call George when you need help paying for your case and defense. He will be happy to help.</p>

  3. <p>Lawyers loving going to court just for the fun of it. Thats there job ! I suggest you return the money. Forget what the contract says, its only $200. You will spend more than that when he decides to take you to court for not returning it. Forget the fact you would win. He could drag it out for weeks and make you spend 3x as much defending you name and company. Is all that work it? Its easy for the photographers on here to say keep it. There not the ones who could be getting sued. Be smart and return the money, you haven't done anything yet bedsides sign some paper work. Forget it and move on. Without going to court. Pick your battles wisely !</p>
  4. I think you should do as much photo editing as you want. Do whatever you think makes your pictures look their very best. If you want to do all types of creative and crazy photoshop actions and effects to your wedding pictures you should. There are plenty of brides out there who love effects and want ultra creative pictures. Why would you want to be plain and boring and only do limited editing just because some other photographer thinks its to much or you must have weak images because you over edit ? I suggest looking into photoshop actions, there are plenty out there that will making your editing even faster and give you just as creative results. There are a few good threads on photo.net about the best ones. Just do a search and see.
  5. No one is saying that the wedding should be shot for free. The fact they have a signed contract I'm sure that means

there was a deposit paid or a retainer and I'm sure it was for at least half of the total. So you have half of her money

and haven't done anything yet. That alone should at least give you a reason to talk to her and the groom. Find out

what the problem is and what you can do to help. The wedding photographer is not the only thing that she needs to

pay for at the wedding. She could be running low on cash and is embarrassed to say anything. The point is you do

not know, God forbid you give her break and let her pay the day of the wedding or workout something else to help

her. I think you would be allot better off being open and help her out if she needs it rather than some jerk who could

careless about the problem or the reason and just wants the money.

  6. Scan the pictures yourself and make prints - The guy clearly has moved on and has made no effort to leave a trail to be found. If his copyright was so important than he should have left some way to be found or a way to be contacted. Since he didnt do what you want.
