  1. There are so many reasons that this shot works on so many levels, it's hard to know where to start.  First off, I love how it reveals bicycles on level that excludes normal use.  And the child framed by the wheel, along with the other baby being held aloft inform the viewer that this is a unique, if not bizarre scene.  In the end I'm left wanting to know more.  Very visually compelling.  Great job, Balázs!

"Do you think I should be a photographer?"

Who took this shot? If it was you, then I guess you already are a photographer. I think this shot works because it communicates a certain mood - loneliness and wide open space. Don't know what your f stop was, but I would have liked to see more clarity in the distant waves.

  2. Having spent a lot of time around fighter jets, this looks like you had to be upside down in another fast mover to get this shot. So how did you get it? Such a fantastic capture - I love it.

Having been on Denali myself (up to McGonegal pass when I was much younger), I know just how rare it can be to catch the mountain such beautiful light. I don't know if you were patient or just lucky - maybe a bit of both. Wonderful shot!

You gotta love this portrait - the weathered, leathery skin, the stained tunic, the white mustache and beard - it's a face with ten thousand stories. What doesn't work IMHO is the darkened background. I assume you got the effect in PS but it makes it look too separate from the portrait. Man, I mean his head looks like it has no body attached and may, at any minute, fall right out of the picture. But I still love it!

It exudes power, I'll admit, but with no highlighting around the edges of the buck it feels something like clip art instead of a photo. Otherwise, I like it.

The face looks more like leather than the leather coat. Every face has a story as they say, and his seems to tell the story of the triumph of the human spirit over trials and tribulations. I'm not trying to be 'reaching' here, it's just what comes to mind. Great portrait.

    A digital world

I'm afraid I have to agree with Louis, the colors are a bit overworked. Even so, it is very mood evoking. I took some time to look through your other work which appeals more to me. The post production impact is not so noticeable and many of them are reminiscent of the old masters. I'm also left wondering whether or not the tower in the background was a real element or if it was added after the fact? Thanks again for sharing.

Yes, this is a very well done, powerful marketing image. It puts me in mind of an old Tonight Show episode when Carson was hosting. He had Arnold Palmer's wife on the show and she made a comment about kissing his (golf) balls before every tournament. I believe Carson's response wound up costing him dearly in the law suit that followed.

It image does raise a question. Do you play this as it lies, get a free drop, or do you take a penalty stroke?
