I can see that this has been an emotive issue.
My dad does not know anything about the camera, any stories etc and I don't think there are any pictures taken from it. It has no sentimental value to him, I hardly knew my grandfather, he ran the family business into the ground through stupidity, which my father then spent the rest of his life rectifying and making a living out of in the end. It is thorugh my Father's hard work, not my granfather's, that I am where I am today.
There is nothing my grandfather did that makes any of us proud of him. He didn't serve in any wars or in the army and he was on the whole a lazy man and a chauvanistic man with no time for his children when they grew up, and less time for his grandchildren.
To us, its just a nice old camera that we feel someone who can cherish it and perhaps use once again can get more value from than sitting in a drawer for another 30 years.
If there was some sort of sentimental provenance to it, nice stories about when it was bought/used etc that would be a different thing, but there isn't.
Hence, I needed to know what exactly it was I had and then I will have an idea about selling it on to an enthusiast.
Thanks for your replies, very helpful, but please, less of the judgements.
