  1. I've been wondering the same thing. I'm half tempted to sell my 18-200 and get it with the 18-105 just to get my hands on it...maybe I'd like it better who knows, that 18-200 is pretty soft at the longer end anyway, but I love it's versatility.
  2. I've got a D60 with the 18-55 kit lens, an 18-200 VR and a 50mm 1.8. I've been looking around and I've seen a lot

of lenses I'd like get my hands on. Since I've bought my D60 I've wanted the Sigma 10-20 but I never wanted to

spend 500 bucks on it. I've also been looking at the Nikkor 85mm 1.8. My question is how do you choose between

two lens you'd probably use just as much as the other? I have my 50 and I love it but I have to get a little

closer than I'd like sometimes. In my mind I wouldn't think I'd need a wide angle but when I'm shooting I notice

times I'd really like it, but I'm afraid if I drop the cash on it I wouldn't use it as much as I'd hope. So any

advice or opinions would be greatly appreciated.

Also, I've noticed the price of the sigma 10-20 went up around 60 or 70 bucks. Is this because of demand or just

    for fun?

  3. I'll always use a PC because I'm arrogant. I have way too much money in my PC(s) to have a change of heart at

this point. Why do people seem to complain about Windows so much? You don't HAVE to do what it tells you to, it's

not your lord, it's a computer. One of my professors is an architectural photographer and he has absolutely no

idea how to operate a computer outside of Photoshop itself, so in that aspect there's no difference it's the same

    thing.

What's this about rebooting all the time? I never reboot my PC, it runs all day and night unless I run a big

update. Nothing can ever outperform a PC as much as all of you will disagree. (When money doesn't matter.) Mac is

like a cult. Windows is like a parent for their idiot children but still allow their children to make a few

decisions by themselves and then STRONGLY suggest otherwise no matter what the decision may be.

    Plus I play games. =)

  4. "It's kinda like getting properly positioned and controlling your breath when shooting a rifle."

That's kinda funny because when I'm taking pictures I always compare it to how I shoot a rifle. I even pretend I'm looking through a scope and placing the crosshairs right where they need to be. Seems to work most of the time haha

  5. I have the D60 and the 50mm 1.8 and focusing it is easy as...(insert inappropriate word here). As much as I'd like to play with a D300 or something of that nature, I love my D60. I think I'll keep it forever, that way in about 5 years I can show people what an ancient camera looks like! Technology moves to quick for me.

These suggestions could go on for months, but no matter what you get you'll probably be satisfied.

  6. If you're wanting to stay under 200 bucks, just get the 50mm 1.8D. It's too cheap to contemplate whether or not to get it really, and you won't be disappointed as it's one of the sharpest lens out there. It will also autofocus on your D80. I have a D60 so I focus manually.
  7. That photo above was taken with the 1.8D not the 1.4. When I type fast I get stupid ;)

Asking something such as you're asking, which prime AND zoom you should buy is going to start a fight! Only kidding...kinda.

  8. If you're looking for something sharp as a razor blade and fairly cheap then look into the Nikkor 50mm f/1.8D. It's just a smidge over 100 bucks and pretty decent for portraits. The 1.4 version is closer to 300 bucks I think.<div>00PyaD-52403684.thumb.jpg.b0c97e793f7734ecac5067920e1b06e5.jpg</div>

    D60

Point in having job - To make money

Point in making money - To support yourself and/or family

Point in having a job that isn't fun to you - ...there isn't one?

To each his own. I'd rather enjoy my life.

That's also pretty irrelevant to photography. So on that note, does anyone take account to the fact that the D60 has that EXPEED processor found only in Nikon's D3? I'm not going to lie, I don't understand the significance in that whatsoever.

What's the point in investing money on photography equipment and spending countless hours taking photo's if you do not intend on having fun? That's just plain dumb. If you're income comes from 'image quality', and it's not about the fun, wouldn't that make you halfway miserable? I have a D60 with the 18-55. I also bought an 18-200 VR and a 50mm f/1.8. I haven't even come close to scratching the surface in learning this photography deal. What I can tell you is I'm having a blast doing so. If it wasn't about the fun, no money would be invested into equipment at all.

    Have fun with your printers.<div>00PuA6-50889584.thumb.jpg.f9683c7ce2a694ed6c5c4472c3974802.jpg</div>
