  1. lol very true. Im just curious what (if this is a scam) they are trying or will try to do.

It could just be a frantic couple emailing everyone they can to see if they are available. But it seems weird I have not gotten a response when I emailed back promptly.

  2. I post ads on craigslist now and then for my wedding services. Last night I got this"

"are you free to shoot a wedding on Aug. 3?

    Please let me know a.s.a.p

    Thank you"

So I emailed back I was. Then today I get 2 more emails (different email adresses) asking the SAME thing exact

same words. But have not gotten a response back. So this is a total of 3 emails asking the same thing.

Seems fishy to me. What do you think?

  3. Thanks Nadine I have been reading about flashes and how to use them. Once I get the flash I will be practicing a lot!!

Nic I do have the polarizing filter and uv lens Works great in bright light. I am looking at some lens im leaning toward the 35-70f/2.7d right now. but we will see thanks for the advice

I will prob have an assistant with me at the wedding. I plan on bringing a gold light reflector. I dont have a stand but the assistant can hold it.

  4. ok Be nice. My first wedding was 4 years ago with a 35mm camera. This is my first paid wedding though. $400

Now I have a nikon d40x and a backup body. I have an 18-55 lens and just bought a 70-200. The ceromony is

outside in a large resort. At 3pm The reception is outdoors as well. Tripod? Light reflectors? Flash?

I need to know what to bring. I have 3 batteries 20 gb memory. UV filters a hood.

ANY advice is appreciated. I have 4 months until the wedding.

Most my exp is models nature and animals. I am a little nervous but hope you guys can help.

I have my associates in journalism and a minor in photography.

    Thank you in advance

  5. I think you will do fine. Relax. Get some books and READ them. Read as MUCH as you can and shoot as much as you can before the big day.

Come up with a shot list on your own the go over it with the bride before the wedding.

Brain storm with her what she would like. Get to the location EARLY.

I would not recommend a flash at the ceremony. As some said I dont even think it is allowed at a lot of churches.

Bring extra batteries and a back up body.

  6. I am also new to wedding photography. My pricing is much lower, but I am not in california. I think that you should lower your prices, just to get some weddings under your belt. Then with experience and the more you learn the more you can charge.

I just booked a wedding via craigslist using a low price offering sale

Thats what I am doing anyway

    Good luck!

  7. I have a d40x as well and love it. I would suggest you get the 18-55mm lens. It is much better for family and everyday photos. I use it for taken pics of my daughter dogs, and husband.

I am still learning about my camera. But I would suggest you read read read whatever articles you can about basic photography.<div>00Powg-49021584.jpg.a2ba41e085440ae5fe9b5092b1bdb23b.jpg</div>

  8. Thank you guys SOO much. I plan on using this camera as a real starter and later a backup camera. I am thinking I will be buying a more expensive camera in about a year something like a d200. My husband is a beginner and I will likely pass this camera on to him when I am ready to move up.

I do plan on printing pretty large prints (over 8x10) quite often.

I will continue reading over and over everyones responses. Right now my budget is about 600-700 (including a lens).

  9. After much research and anguish over the might dollar.

I figured my best options to buy would be a d40 or d40x. I am relatively new to

    the realm of "serious photography"

So I am an amateur, interested in expanding my skill.

Purchasing this camera will be a huge learning tool and help me build my

portfolio and get some new interesting shots.

Main question I have is what is the biggest differences between the d40 and d40x

    other than the 10.2 megapixels?

Thanks! Looking forward to your replies!

  10. I am pretty new slr cameras. But would like a good one i can take good shots

with. I will be shooting mostly portraits and some nature shots. Pretend i am

an idiot please. The more input the better!

    Thank You
