1.
Matt, sorry to hear about your friends tragedy, horrible thing to lose everything and 20 dogs at once...
Dogs and hunting, that's what one of my shots is about - our little one went for her first blood trail training on Sunday and she did quite well. We also had the first snow last week, and I did a small model shoot. :)

 2.
Good evening, fellow Nikonistas! Great shots once again from everyone, especially Mark, amazing rainbow-shot! No dog photo from me this week (thanks for your comments on last week's thread!), only a quick grab shot from last Saturday's Photowalk.

 3.
Oh, it's Wednesday already? Almost missed this one!

Great shots, wow, this thread has it all - cats, dogs and other critters, kids and jedi padawans, beautiful landscapes and people! I shall add this one to the mix, not surprisingly it's a shot of our puppy, but this time with her mom. Oh, and thanks Lil for your nice words on last week's thread!

 4.
Good Wednesday morning, fellow Nikonistas! Great start for this week's thread you have here, great shots from everyone!
My shot is - surprise, surprise - a shot of our puppy, tried to take a few studio light shots but she was way too wild at the moment. This is one of the few ones that were even remotely OK.

 5.
Good Wednesday morning fellow Nikonistas!

Thanks for your comments on my last week's photos! Some more dog shots from me again on this week, surprise surprise... :) This time here's two shots from a "forest expedition" with couple dog friends of ours.

 6.
Good Wednesday morning, noon, afternoon, evening or night!

Last week we finally got a dog of our own, so it's been a busy week! I did a small test session with flashes to see how Merri (a Rhodesian Ridgeback puppy) reacts to the flashing lights and light modifiers. Umbrella soft box was slightly scary at first, but after couple shots (and treats) she was posing like a pro. :)

 7.
Good Wednesday all! This one was shot couple weeks ago - it was my first time shooting people portraits with the new D600. It's a frighteningly sharp tool compared to my previous Fuji S5.

 8.
Hi! On Midsummer Eve we had a small party, which traditionally included a bonfire. It's supposed to scare off the evil spirits, but I think I saw Balrog in ours... :)

 9.
Hi everyone and happy Wednesday!

Couple of weeks ago I finally decided to get a full frame digital body, and natural way to go was to get back into the Dark Side with bodies as well - so I bought a new D600!

I was curious to see how the D600 compares against my old Fuji S5, so I did a quick shoot with one of my favorite models, Polkka - a Rhodesian Ridgeback. The results were as expected: D600 triumphs in sharpness and resolution, but the Fuji still had better color. On D600 dynamic range was something I need to keep studying - Fuji S5 and D600 both have great DR, but where with Fuji I can easily overexpose and find detail in highlights, with D600 I really need to pay more attention in protecting the highlights. On the other hand, D600 "shines" in shadow details. To be honest, I still feel more comfortable with Fuji, but I just need to shoot more with D600, flip my brain around with DR and exposure and see how it works with my style.

With small web-sized images one really can't see much difference in sharpness, but it's there if you look closely, the hair detail in the neck for example seems clearer in D600 shot even in these small pics.

 10.
Good Wednesday-evening everyone!

I continued my self-portrait -series this week (Thanks Matt for your comments on last week's thread). This week didn't go that well - I tried to do something pirate-themed, but I ended up looking more like I had escaped from random 80's hard rock band... :) Here's one that was not what I planned lighting-wise, but otherwise passable.

 11.
Happy Wednesday everyone! I'm still trying to break free from my creative rut, this time with self portraits. No exposure compensation needed, only slightly heavier post processing... ;)

 12.
Hi Nikon-folks, I haven't been posting in a while, I think I have a bad case of creative rut which has been on and off since last summer. Last Wednesday evening a friend of mine dragged me to the town to take some shots for a study he is doing for the city. So here's my shot for this week, my home town Tampere.
