I was walking the dog on the beaches of Vancouver Island, when I saw a group of
people flying these amazing kites. After finding the best shots worked with the sun
backlighting the kites, I clicked off a few shots with an ND2 filter to give the sky some
tonality. I added contrast and sharpened in lightroom. Please tell me your thoughts on
this piece - I'd like to know if this goes beyond being a pretty picture for you.

Maybe try the opposite and crop the foreground. It's the cliffs and clouds that draw me into this image. The foreground lends a sense of scale here, but in some ways it could be detracting from what's important.
