  1. I did it by exposing the paper normally, then when the paper was almost fully developed I flipped the light on for about 4 seconds then back off again, and developed the remaining time. Trial and Error with timing until I got a good turnout.

    Chess Game

    I tried to capture the excitement of chess here, just kidding :)

    What do you think? Something to look at, or too boring? I lost some of

    the shadow detail during the scan, the black pieces look better on the

    print. Other than that is the lighting ok? I'm new to printing and

    studio style photography, although I have nothing close to studio

    equipment, I took this with a couple of cheap halogen lamps. Any

    comments/critisim welcome. Thanks for your help.

  2. My main question has to do with the depth of field for this picture.

    Would it have been better if everything was in focus, or if it was

    even more limited. Also in terms of composition is the page of the

    book on the left too distracting because of its sharper focus than the

    page on the right.
