  1. Christal -

I do my best to frame the image in the viewfinder so vertical lines are plumb and horizontal lines are level where appropriate. But this does not always work in the field. I use DXO Optics Pro to process my images. DXO has a several tools that allow for perspective correction. One is called force parallel. I used this tool by drawing a line on the left and right front edges of the building and then hit force parallel. This makes the lines vertical and parallel to one another and adjusts the image in the same manner. I also used a barrel correction tool to take apparent bow out of what should be straight lines. Does this help?

I thank everyone for their comments.

Beautiful picture. In 1987 I spent 5 weeks in Laural Canyon, which is one canyon north of Convict. This was part of summer field class for my geology degree. I mapped 25 square miles including Laural Peak and the Sevehah Cliffs. I believe the Sevehah Cliffs are at the far end of the lake in the photo. Laural Mountain is shrouded in clouds. It was one of the best times of my life. I have been back to this area many times. The beauty is amazing. Your picture does it justice.

Nice image. Looks like you applied a heavy red or yellow filter. I like the processing, contrast, tonality, and framing. This is one of my favorite places; I don't get there often enough.

Beautiful skin tones. Excellent lighting. Beautiful girl. I like the shadow on the model's face. I think her loose hair behind her ear is a bit distracting. I don't like the pose. Her shoulders look hunched forward. This causes her shoulders and arm to appear bigger than they otherwise would. Overall, an outstanding portrait.

Good color, good contrast, good lighting, nice skin tones, pretty girl.

I pick up a horizontal light reflection on the bangs about 2 inches above the eyes, slight distraction. Did you over do it on skin smoothing?

    Overall, outstanding.

  2. Hi Pierre -

Great photo. Beautiful sky, interesting sculptures, nice composition. I haven't heard from you in awhile so I thought I would stop by and say hello. I hope things are well with you.
