I would really like to improve, and it seems, I really need to get

more light on the subject - always a little underexposed - to get

sharp pictres need at least 125-180 ss, currently use pop-up flash

with diffusers, so would a single big flash with a diffuser be any

more of an improvement, except quantity of light and distance from

camera, is that all it takes... OK composition and finding them in

nice fresh positions are still a problem...

How disturbing is having the insect looking the other way? should we

then rather focus not on the eye, or is this fine?

I have difficulty deciding how to expose these as the black always

seem way underexposed...

This is about 50% crop used 50mm +3 stacked extension tubes and pop-up

flash diffuser. Please crit comp and techincals. Curves adjusted and

sharpened, saturation also.

please crit, I'm almost there with sharpness, but somehow even

diffused flash makes it appear very unnatural and the vibrance I see

in some others are just not there. PP using Pentax Photolab
