Very nice but what do you think of a little different composition with the base starting lower to the left cbottom corner and heading to the right top corner?

    Frog

At one of the ponds on the golf course I play there are always a lot of

frogs. This time I packed a 300 mm Nikon prime lens to get a few shots.

If I stayed in the cart I could drive up within a few feet of them. If I was

on foot they spooked and jumped into the water.

I was out by the pond trying to get a close up shot of a bull frog with just

its head out of the water. When I looked to my left this fellow was

standing there, at least for a shot time.

It is a pleasant scene and a good capture of the blue herron. The composition of your crop looks very centered. Bird is bulls eye in the middle. I would at least crop off some of the lower water. Instead of the rule of thirds you are currently at one half.
  1. I went back out to the garden this morning and the dill plant the

caterpillars were eating was about gone. So were all this fellows

buddies. He is the last one hanging on to bare stems.

As a photographer I have seen many of my models give me that look. I interpit it as saying, "get it over with will ya" Great capture, could crop of some of the tree on the right.

Too many tricks at one time. High key is interesting and so is partial desaturation. But together it may just be too much for traditional minds to comprehend.

Excellently done. Really like the contrasting colored background. I recently had a herd of these eat all my dill plants in the garden. I posted a shot of one of mine on here and another site. On the other site a contributor said he thought it was a Black Swallowtail catipilar. I am waiting to see if any show up in a few weeks.
