<p>It looks like someone is really desparate for a Leica M9 and Photoshop a Canon 5D MK II camera with a "L" lens, and still left the "L" on the lens. Lecia does not have their L lenses</p>

Why a D300?
in Nikon
D300 is CMOS chip----which is better and more sensitive in low light situation; It has <strike>live video</strike>, self sensor cleaning, better LCD monitor brightness, better battery saving than previous D200, and Auto ISO, and D-light function. Faster motor-drive speed, up to 8 frames if use with MB-D10 and a Nikon D3 battery(Nikon version EN-EL4a). Everything is better than D200; D70 or D70s are no match for this camera. -
Leave in the salt water, so they won't get corrode.....Bring the whole outfit to repair shop.....sometimes they can still rescue the lenses. The camera and battery is definetly gone.

It seems like you are using this camera for hobby or fun use, right? I have use many lens. The best focal length is 18-200mm. It's equivlent to 28-300mm on your camera. Or you preferred having a longer, then 70-300 VR is the next choice.

Your black area is not well lit! You need to light up the black area. Also you are putting one dressed up in white and one dressed up in black next to each other; It will fool the flash sensor.
This picture doesn't have any noise at all. Noise is like grains in film: you will see lots of pixelated images.
D200 has CCD chips, D300 has CMOS chip. CMOS is better in low light situation, better sensitive, and less noise. D300 is just a better camera overall!

Maybe you need to step up to a D40 or a better camera for better ISO setting and noise, plus faster motor drive speed. Or maybe use a slower sync shutter speed, like 1/125th, when you using 580 II flash.
XTi top sync speed is 1/200, D40 is 1/250th. 1.2 is defintely better than 1.4 lens, quality and hefty price.

Thes best way I clean the lenses or filters is using a piece of chamois, available in photo stores or auto part stores, then just huff your breath on the lens or filters, then wipe it with fresh chamois. If it's not clean first, try few more times. Please DO NOT use lens tissues or lens solutions.
