  1. "Worth" is your choice. It is only $100.

If you shoot RAW, it is a very powerful, but slow and a little buggy, RAW converter. It gives better "quality" than Adobe Camera Raw and in camera JPG, but at the cost of less convenience. If your time is money, don't use it.

If you don't shoot RAW, then it is not much use to you, apart from what the other responders have said.

  2. I bought an Epson P-2000. It supports RAW formats from several manufacturers as well as the major video formats, has a great screen. As a photo storage device, it is way superior to the Ipod.

It also has very good battery life. As a test, I transferred 4 full 2GB cards to it. Takes about 15 minutes per 2GB card. I got bored before it showed any signs of battery depletion, and 8 GB per day is more than I am likely to use. It can also use spare batteries.

  3. I use the Delkin eFilm. Works fine, so far, but battery life very limited. I can only get a couple of 1MB transfers before it looks real low.

It reported a bad transfer once, but recovered itself.

The TV slide show feature can be handy for low res viewing of the take.
