A shot of the old breakwater off of Upper Tampa Bay; I was intriqued by
the line of Cormorants, looking like they were lined up to take their turn
diving into the Bay, with the pelicans acting like Lifeguards at the beach.

David,
I have to agree with Jim on this one; I went back and checked out the original, and though I found it very humorous, I did not, at first, catch the comparison in the shapes. With this imge I do, and I think that, though not as funny, it is a "better" image. And a 6/6 from me.

Thanks, Jim, good to be back. "What a long strange trip it's been..."
Debated on whether to put the whole series up, or just a selection. Since I can only put 4 images up at a time, I thought to post 8 of the images; if there seems to be interest I'll post the rest.
In truth, I'm not too sure how they will be received...
But I like them, and had fun doing them, so what the Hell...

Exellent. Love the composition, color, subject, atmosphere. I love it all, and a 7/7 on a job very well done.

Part of a 32 image alegory of a young woman casting aside the
restrictions of the security of family and society to face the uncertainties
of personal freedom.

The constuction site represents that fact that the young woman's life is itself under construction, and is indeed a work in progress...

John,
Another very beautiful image of a very beautiful woman. The lighting and skin tones are a Master Class, and, of course, I am very fond of the casual settings that you often use; I feel that it gives an image a greater sense of immediacy.
If I were to voice a critique, it would be in the cropping. I would have liked to have seen the right foot, and more of the left leg, to balance the amount of space above her head. Or cropped tighter, bringing the upper edge down to the head, and bringing the lower up to fully cut off the right foot.
Small complaints, though, for it is a beautiful image, and a 6/6 from me.

The sculptural quality innate in function shape with an artist's eye.

Roy, Thanks for your comments.
Daniel, Yes the shot is indeed "cluttered" as you say, but the whole point of the image was to capture the pattern on pattern effect of the pilings against The Doge palace. There is little open space in Venice, and everything seems piled on everything else. I wanted to capture this.
Chuck, Thanks for your comments. Venice is my favorite city in the world, but it has been over shot and over packaged. For me Venice is the city of dreams, and I shot her when she was asleep, usually 4 or 5 in the morning, wrapped in fog, and before the hordes of tourists.

Typical Florida afternoon thunderstorm, in a most un-typical place: The
Moorish fantasy of the old Plant Hotel, now the University of Tampa.

Part of a series of one of the most photographed cities in the world, only
seen in a way most tourists never see it: In a winter dream, wrapped in
the early morning fog.

I hope Wolfie's nose wasn't cold. Your tush, heh David? Love to have the name of your personal trainer!
As always, gave me a smile! Funny. Clever. And well shot.

A shot of the old breakwater on Old Tampa Bay, as the typical, Summer
afternoon thunderstorms begin to build.

Just to prove that one will do almost anything to get a shot:
Lightning was striking nearby as I stood in an open field to get this
shot...
God favors drunks, fools and photographers...

John,
Wow, I leave for a month and I come back to find this! Unbelievable! By far one of my favorite works of yours (and that says a lot!)
An unreal image: The beautiful model striking a classically elegant pose, bathed by the light from the left, while stepping out of the shaows on the right, and the sensuous curves of the landing and the railing leading the eye to this young woman.
Flawless in every way (image and model), and I 7/7 from me. And, John, if you ever get around to selling prints of your work, I want to be the first to purchase a copy of this one.
Very, very well done, indeed, my friend.
