Hi all,

I was just wondering if anybody else has had this issue. Seems not as I've had a search on the net.

When I press the shutter release to meter the photo on my OM4 the beeping starts going crazy, erratic and very fast. It seems to meter fine and it doesn't affect the shutter at all but it's really strange. It does this consistently and is different from the beeping when it is over exposed. It will continue for what seems like a random period of time after I try to meter.

I was thinking perhaps the battery isn't the correct type, but there are no issues when using my OM3. It's the standard energizer SR44 replacement.

Any ideas?

Cheers,
David

I have one I'll sell when someone wants one, I can't really justify having it over the 1.4. Send me a message.

This seems to be the only one close? the super-takumar and the super-multi-coated takumar both had aperture rings at the back. But it's a 3.5? Maybe the front face plate has been sneakily replaced...

To go along with Tolik,
The sad thing is no matter how many people companies hire to 'copy proof' their programs, there will be x as many computer buffs that get a thrill out of cracking it. With something as unregulated as the internet, if you want something free, you can get it. With the torrent community as large as it is, cracked programs completely virus/spam/ad free are extremely easy to obtain.
With the original question, if Adobe weren't making any money of PS, they wouldn't be making it. In relation to cracking, I guess outside the US Adobe wouldn't have a leg to stand on against crackers? It's perhaps still a question of them not having any legal power to shut down servers providing cracked copies?

Yep, Ecole-club migros has a lot of photography courses in Geneva and just about everywhere else in Switzerland.

Is it possibly that the very last of the Super-Takumar series have the multi coating? Before the re-made them as the super-muti-coated takumars? I seem to remember reading this somewhere, but I'm not sure.

Here's the link, saves me from having to re-post it everywhere.. any questions ask me or if something doesn't make sense let me know and I'll fix it.

It's actually not too bad to get through the rear end of the lens and the lens cap off a 49mm filter sized takumar and a rubber glove can get the face plate off! should have it finished in a few days, just trying to put into words how to get the focussing back..

Hey all,
I've never posted on this forum before but I've read many posts trying to
improve my skills. Anyway, yesterday I had to dismantle my Super-tak 200/4 in
order to clean the fungus off the 2nd element (from the front). I thought at the
same time I'd take photos and try to write a good guide to completely
disassembling this great lens to fix the aperture/focussing/fungus etc.
I'd now like to find a good free site that will host the .pdf so others can
hopefully use it to get their tak working properly.
Any ideas?
Cheers,
David

Thanks John, it was a case of it being loose. When I pushed on the cap it worked fine so I tried to tighten it but couldn't get it to stay tight enough to work without pressure. I swapped the cap with the motor drive cap and it works fine now!
I couldn't see much difference with the two caps but I must have switched them at some stage which would explain why it suddenly started happening.

Cheers
