1.
Hi all,

I will be spending time in the area in April-May next year and would like to gain more experience in wedding photography and build my portfolio. I hope to find a willing wedding photographer in the area that can take me on for however long or short. Im totally free of course and I dont mind having to do the less glamorous stuff i.e bag carrying, running erens ect. Please feel free to ask me anything regarding this or email me.

Thanks. John

 2.
Thanks for the great feedback,

I mix at the moment using the 70-200mm 2.8 on one body and then mixing between the, 24 2.8, 35DX 1.8, 50 1.4. I guess I just like the idea of getting rid of that huge 70-200 and just using a longer prime. I rarely go past 120mm(190mm on FX) anyway so maybe I should start by trying out the 85mm 1.8 and see how it feels.
D300 with 24mm 2.8 (40mm FX)
D300 with 50mm 1.4 (80mm FX)
with a wide zoom in bag along with the 85mm 1.8??
No more back ache!!

 3.
Hi all,

Does anybody only use prime lenses for weddings? I love using my prime lenses but not sure if Im ready to lose the zoom? I realize everybody is different and has different style's. However advice is always great especially from people who only use primes

So I use two D300 bodies, what two primes would you use on them and what's in the bag?

 4.
Thanks,
Bill- Thanks for the good advice, Im going to stay away from the where I learnt and how passionate I am, I find it a bit cheesy anyway. Looks like the static must go. Thanks again Bill

Rene- Thanks also, If you read the bottom of my post you would know why I am yet to have an address, maybe I will just put a general area for now like California and change when needed. I was also weary about the repetition so I will need to change that. The static is going for sure now. Thanks again Rene

 5.
Hi all,

So I'm a semi-pro photographer at the moment and I'm in the process of making my website as preparation to going pro, after more experience in the field.

I feel like I'm making process with the rest of the site http://www.johnnewsomephotography.com , however I'm stuck at the about me page. I don't have a clue were to start although I have searched many other photographer sites. As Im fairly new to weddings I don't want to put people off straight away by saying I have only shoot 4 weddings. I don't know whether to bring my personal life into it or keep it strictly photography? short and sweet or long-ish? Do I really need one?

Any help would be very grateful. Also feel free to leave comments on the rest of the site, like I said I'm in the process of making it so I have no left things out(you will notice what I mean). Im also In the process of moving country to an unknown destination at the moment which is why there is no city, state, number and address.

Thanks

 6.
Hey Eric,
I'm in the same position as you Eric having just put together a website myself http://www.johnnewsomephotography.com which is still unfinished.
So here is my views on your site,
I agree that the photos take to long to load, I also agree that the roses have lost detail but that may be your style and if so then you should stand by it.
The rates page is a very busy, maybe color to text or bullet points to separate categories?. I would put the card payment bit at the bottom, I think that would be the last thing the customer would look at after deciding whether, to hire or not, for that reason I would place it along the bottom.
Back to the photos, I think you should re-arrange them into order of best to worse.
I think you could introduce color into the layout.
Thats all from me, Im no expert but I'm sure like me you appreciate all the advice you can take.
Please feel free to look at my site and fire right back at me, bearing-mind that its not finish, but a thought on the layout would be nice.
