Hi Joseph,
Thanks for your nice comment. This image was made with an ND grad, so no HDR software was involved. I also took a second image with the same parameters but without filter just to bring back the detail on the top left rock. I also used a third image with my finger covering the sun in order to kill the flare, so I used this shot to eliminate all the unwanted flare and keep only the star burst.
I hope this clarify your doubts.
Rgrds,
Gorka.

Hola Mario,

Buen trabajo!
Un saludo,

Thanks everyone for the nice comments. Richard, maybe an HDR (I think that by HDR you mean tone mapping) would have preserved this highlights, but I don't use this technique because of the unnatural results it gives (this is a personal opinion). Concerning the filters, I don't really think that the price of the ND Grad has big effects on the final results apart from some colorcast that the cheapest ones use to give. Actually this image is a digital blending of 3 different exposures, I suppose I could have used more images to increase the dynamic range, but at expenses to detract some naturalness to the scene. Thanks for your sincere critique!

Tells the story that this is a troll who was caught by the sun in his way to attack the Thingeyrar's monastery.
