  1. Thanks for the feedback.<br/>

@Nathan - I was more looking for feedback on the site itself, the layout, navigation, size of the photos, etc.

I know I don't have lots of photos up yet, as noted in the original post asking for a website critique, since

this is not the forum for photo critiques. I know that I have a long ways to go in my photogrpahy.<br/>

@Christine - I'm glad you like the navigation & colors, I did not notice that the shop page had extra space, I

will check it out. It is actually a SmugMug account that I have made look like my site.<br/>

    Again, thanks for the feedback.

  2. I am looking for help deciding on a color scheme for my new Nature / Wildlife / Landscape Photography website. I have

picked out a few color schemes from the Color Schemer website. My two favoriates so far are NaturalInstincts and

MoodMan. I am looking for something with lots of earthy colors. Please vote for your favorite in the comments and

thanks in advance for your help! You can view the schemes here: http://www.coreydaley.com/virtuals/ColorSchemes/

  3. So, If there is a My Cameras section on the Equipment Management page, it would make more sense to me for the "My

Unknown Cameras" section to be called "My Other Equipment" since there is no place for flashes, tripods, etc. If you

have an unknown camera, can't you just put it in the My Cameras section with Unknown as the manufacturer? Because

in the My Unknown Cameras you still have to select a manufacturer and model/type. it just seems like it would make

better organizational sense and not be so confusing...

  4. If you are using WordPress as a blog for your site, you can install the ShareThis plugin, otherwise the best

bet would be to use the ShareThis website listed by Mark M. If you just want a "follow us on whatever"

badge you should be able to download one from the website, like twitter, or find one somewhere else, and

make it an html link that points to your account on that website, like <a

href='http://twitter.com/john'>Follow us on Twitter</a> or whatever.

  5. I like the design, but I think i would make your Don Giles Photography logo on just one line, so that it

would take up less space. On a smaller monitor, the rest of your website is pushed down and you have to

scroll down to it. I'm also not digging the blue colored html links on the black background, it's a little hard

to see. I'd make them white or something that fits more with your theme and leave them underlined so that

people know they are a link. I used to also have a problem with my site of people not knowing right off how

to get back to the main page by clicking on the logo. I personally would add a "home" link on there too.

Other than that I am digging the design and the faded out picture on the main page. I have always thought

for the most part that photos stand out better on pages with dark backgrounds.

  6. I use Daily Razor, but have also used HostGator in the past. Both were good and had unlimited storage &

bandwidth. Daily Razor is a bit cheaper, uses PHP & MySQL or they have windows hosting options. I pay

    4.95 a month.

    Good Luck!

  7. @Rajesh Thanks for the feedback. I'm just getting going and got that design up and running. I definitely plan on adding more pictures. Mostly what I will be trying to sell are desktop backgrounds & landscape prints through SmugMug eventually.

I'll fix the issue with showing a random image when a portfolio is selected and at least show an image from that portfolio! I didn't think of that.

    Thanks,

    Corey

  8. Thanks for the feedback! I really appreciate it.

    @Geoff Sobering

Yeah, I had contemplated putting a "home" link, but I think it looks strange on there.. hmmmm...

    @Linda Schaffer

I think it is Internet Explorer 8's compatibility mode that breaks the site, I'll have to deal with that.
