  1. <p>Poor <a href="../photodb/user?user_id=5182519">Chien Chiang</a> ..............where are you my friend. I have a question for you. My question is about your camera. Why did you choose Canon Rebel Xsi over Canon Rebel Xsi? If you answer this question correctly, then you will find out which lens is better for you. By the way, I would rather have Canon 70-200mm f/2.8 L with IS than Canon 70-200mm f/4.0 L or Canon 70-200mm f/4.0 L.</p>
  2. <p>I would like to shoot new born this type of picture and would like to achieve that without the use of post processing like photoshoping. I have three strobe lights from Alien Bees and a brown background. I think I will need a black backgroud to achieve the effect in this shot. Please let me know what I need and the technique I will need to use.<br>

  3. <p>Let me confess........ I am not very good with Photoshop, and I will need to make a decision as soon as possible. Do you suggest that I take a class, learn, and edit the pictures I shoot, OR have someone do the post processing. If it is the latter, who is best to do this? Could you please provide me with the website for the business who is doing post processing. I am also leaning towards outsourcing the post processing for two reasons. one, I have a wedding scheduled, and I am not sure if I will be able to edit the photos to the level I want them due to the learning curve. Second, my photography business right now is part time, and I am not sure if I have sufficient time to do that.<br>

In either case, your input is very important; therefore, please let me know what you think. Thank you.</p>

  4. I am thinking of using gels to be able to change background colors. I have alien bees strobe light (1600 and

800), and I am thinking of buying the background package http://www.alienbees.com/background.html and also add

some gels http://www.alienbees.com/filters.html. However, I am confused as to whether I need to have the grid or

just buy the strobe and the gels. If I do not need the grid, how then the background light can spread to all over

    the backdrop?

  5. Thank you all. These are the things I am really looking for. Constructive criticism! That is how we can grow as professional photographers.

I will consider all suggestions and implement as soon as possible. My wife is about to give birth to our first child and could not get any time to do anything.

Again, thank you very very much.

  6. Ken - I really like your website a lot, especially your logo. How did you came up to this unique name and logo? Also it is nice you put the award section out there. I like the pictures a lot. By the way, is the 3 girls portrait 'photoshoped'? I love the light and the expression on the girl in the middle. Nice work.
  7. Hello Friends,

I have just launched my website, and would like to get a feedback from photographers like you. Does my website

appear to average users? Any suggestion is welcomed before announcing and advertising the site. As always I

    really appreciate your inputs.

Here is the site - www.leeyuphotography.com

    Thank you.

  8. Hello Friends,

I am about to buy this set and before I am making my last decision I was wondering if I get your feedback. Please

see the strobe set from http://www.adorama.com/JTTL660SBK.html?searchinfo=strobe%20kit&item_no=65

The main purpose of this set is to photograph my wife's pregnancy and later my first child. I do not do Studio

commercially right now, but I am thinking to offer that on the side of my wedding photography business in the

near future. Off course I need to perfect the skill first.

Any input on JTL Strobe Light will be greatly appreciated.

  9. Do not spend few hundreds more on 40D. Buy a 30D which is very similar to 40D and you will use the 30D as a backup later when you acquire 5D. I am currently shooting with 30D and I have used 40D for 2 weeks just to test the difference. I am not trying to claim that 40D is not any better than 30D. I am not sure if it is worth the extra hundreds.
  10. I recently took a Studio Photography workshop and loved it very much, and now would like to get more experience

in it. Another event is that my wife is pregnant with our first child. She would like to be photographed now and

off course to photograph our child very frequently. I was wondering to buy inexpensive startup kit and setup a

studio in my garage. The idea here is to photograph my wife and my child and to perfect my skill along the way.

Killing two birds with one stone. Please advise me on what light kit I should consider, and I would appreciate if

you can provide me with links. Thank you so much.

  11. Hello Friends;

I am going to photograph a wedding as a backup photographer, and I am excited

about it. Now I need to know what is the best lens to have. I will rent it from

lensrental.com. I use Canon 30D and the only two lens I have is the 50mm and the

28-135mm. I was thinking canon-24-70-f2.8-L. Is this a good one or is there a

better lens out there. Please let me know. Thank you as usual.

  12. I am traveling to Germany, and I am thinking of renting a good lens to capture

the beautiful architectures of Berlin and Frankfurt. I am debating between wide

angle and long lens. For wide angle, I am thinking of Canon 17-55 f2.8 IS EF-S

and for the long, I was thinking Canon 70-200mm f2.8 IS L . Which one is the

    better one? Any other suggestion?

    FYI - I am using Canon 30D.

    Thank you

  13. Hello Friends,

This is my first posting. I recently started taking photography very seriously

and actually took about 5 classes so far. My first real life test is coming this

May. I will be taking Wedding as a backup photographer. This is my friend's

wedding and I am doing more to test myself rather than helping her. Anyway, she

asked me if I can setup a make shift studio in their hotel and take some

pictures as this is not part of the package with the main photographer. I

believe the simplest and cost effective way to do this is to use my flash and

use 2 other flashes as slaves to eliminate shadows. My question is what is the

best inexpensive flash that I can use as slaves. I am shooting with Canon 30D

and my main flash is Canon Speedlight 580EX II. Thank you.
