    Farmyard Wreck

I'm also drawn to the souls of abandoned cars and buildings. A farm I visit in Maine has become a shrine to old vehicles, revered for the lives they must have touched. Some person, or family, was carried to school, or work, or birthday parties in these machines. Something small but important happened in them. They enabled some event that mattered long ago.

Thanks for your suggestion, Tony. It turns out this was late afternoon light beneath heavy clouds, just as snow stopped falling. It looked about this dark, like a thunderstorm was approaching. It was kind of eerie.

Great photo! May I also suggest a version of this cropped so that some of the bamboo slats are elminated? They compete rather strongly with the boy's image, and are somewhat monotonous. By cropping off 10% from the bottom and from the right, you won't lose a significant part of the arc of the wheel, or the strength of the diagonals.
