1.
Philip, in addition to the Luminous Landscape rolling review, which was quite favorable to the 24 megapixel sensor in the NEX 7, consider this review by David Kilpatrick on the Sony Alpha 77. Same sensor, same 1.5 crop factor, same EVF, but SLT body. He also presents a very favorable review. It should address your concerns. See http://www.photoclubalpha.com/2011/10/17/the-sony-alpha-77-tomorrow-today/

 2.
Mark,
I just rented an M8.2 over the weekend. There are frame line pairs for 24 and 35, 50 and 75, and I believe 28 and 90. The frame lines account for the 1.33 crop sensor. So, for example, the FOV of the 35 frame line will be about 47 mm. Also, the M8 was as I recall was designed to be correct at 0.5 meters, and the M8.2 designed at 2 meters, as stated earlier.
In other words, I don't believe you need to do a thing for the three lenses that you have and a new 24 mm, the camera will work correctly for all of them.

 3.
Paul, check out the Metz flash guns, in particular the SCA system that allows a given flash to be used on a variety of cameras by changing the "foot". I have done this for my R5, purchasing a Metz 54 used at KEH which was significantly less expensive and essentially new, along with an SCA 301 adapter I purchased on ebay. In your case, it understand from their web site that it would be the SCA 3502 adapter.
4.
I started down this path, thanks to the enthusiasm on this forum, purchasing a Da-Lite screen and a vintage but mint Pradovit-Color slide projector with a Colorplan lens. Of course, I also had to buy a film camera, ending up with three, an SL, SL2 and an R5, and various lenses, none of which were very expensive thanks to advice given here. Then there was the all important decision as to which slide film to use. Recently I learned that the local WalMart overnight photo service processes slide film inexpensively in a professional Fuji lab.

So far I really like what I see! Thanks to all for the earlier posts on this subject that helped with the many decisions along the way.

 5.
Looking at Harry's photos and the two I posted, one from the backyard on a rainy day, and the other from main street disneyland, I would say the look in each set are quite different. I know that in my case the shots were taken with a Leica Minilux 40 mm, and developed/scanned at A&I photo.
