I'm going to be shooting a graduation group photo for 38 students. It's going to be in a gym at a local college. I also have a wedding just a couple weeks earlier and it is late in the day which means I might need additional light for the group shots (15 and under).
Can someone suggest the best lighting set-up. I'll be using an SB800 with a Gary Fong diffuser and a Justrite bracket. I'd like to find a lighting set up that would work for a studio setting as well.

Will, bless you and thank you very much. I'll print your advice and follow to a tee!

I signed up for Smug Mug and I'm having the hardest time trying to understand how to post pictures, pricing, etc., etc. They've been helpful and have helped set up my web site, but I'm lost when I try to do anything myself. I feel like an absolute dummy. Is anyone else having these problems and can anyone suggest the best way to conquer this technological (at least for me anyway) mountain???? I've asked if they have a manual or classes but they've never responded to this question. Thank you!

Richard, I see what you mean, and I've decided to stay with my current web site and use Smug Mug for my gallery. Thank you.

Richard,
I'm not sure what you mean by "bespoke"? I currently have a web site but I don't like it.

Well, I still haven't made a decision. Big Black Bag is out, Blu Domain does not get back to me and SmugMug is taking a long time to figure out out to put a web site together, afterall, I'm a photographer not a web developer. I'm still looking into PhotoBiz as they do have a special right now. Thanks for all your help! I'll keep you posted.

I'm still deciding as to whether to use SmugMug, BluDomain or Big Black Bag for my Web site. Blu Domain does not return calls, Smug Mug only responds via email. Big Black Bag seems to have good customer service but I'm wondering about their gallery and on-line viewing. I'm a wedding and portrail photographer and will be selling prints and other products as well. More comments/suggestions please and thank you in advance.

I currently have a web site but I'm not pleased with the design, layout or the fact that I can't post a gallery for clients. Could you please give me feedback as to some companies that can help me build a good web site with lots of space for multiple galleries. I'm looking at companies that have templates that are somewhat changeable so I'd have my own style, and one that charges monthly and or yearly fees.

Thank you for your help! Has anyone used Backprint.com?

I wasn't sure what category to post this under, so I hope this works. I am a wedding, portrait, stock and event
photographer. I just signed up with Pictage but I'm finding their download time to be really long. Their suggestion is
to mail a cd to them, but this seems too time-consuming, costly and annoying. I noticed that there are lots of
discussion on this subject, but nothing recent. Appreciate all comments. Thank you.

I really appreciate all your answers, it's been a great help and now I know how to approach this. I've learned at lot and will be more careful in the future. Thank you very much all of you who took your precious time to respond.

I helped a friend with a wedding as a second shooter. I gave her about 300 images on a cd. My intention is that she
would use these for the couples album, personal stuff. I just noticed that she is selling them on-line with her name
under my pictures. She is a dear friend and I don't want to hurt her feelings nor our relationship, but I need to
approach her about this. Has anyone had this happen before and how did you handle it?

Is there anyone who uses the SB800 with the Quantum 2x2 Battery Pack? I just bought the Quantum but thinking
maybe I should have just settled with the Nikon Battery Pack. I try to keep weddings to just six a year, shoot about
four events and lot of location portaits and real estate. Can anyone tell me which is best for my type of work. Thank
you!

I've shot about a dozen weddings and have produced (thank God) some delightfully creative images both inside and
out. My next wedding has asked I shoot the formals inside (up to this point I've shot all formals outside). The church
has high ceilings, and ample lighting from both florescent from above and natural light coming through the windows
(due to stainglass there is a slight blue cast). I've haven't tested the lighting for the formals yes but was planning on
keeping it simple using my D300, SB800 and a Gary Fong diffuser (clouded model). At the most the formals will be
comprised of groups up to 10 people. Do you think think I will have sufficient lighting or shall I look into additional set
up?

Wow, thank you for all the great information. I really appreciate it...a lot. I do also back up on DVD's and will continue to do so. I also just started making prints so thanks for the confirmation.
