I am aware that there are some add on telephoto/wide lenses that can
fit on to the Bay 1 mount; But, are there any other accessories that
will fit? Will any of the backs (such as the kits that contain
holders for plate film?).

Alright, first of all, no desparaging remarks from Europe decrying
the American obsession with inches, and revulsion to the metric
system!
Well, with that out of my system, I have a medium format camera which
takes the type of lenses that fit in Speed Graphic, and certain Large
Format cameras. I'm looking for other lenses for my camera: I have
noticed that some older lenses say 12inches, or 6inches instead of
150mm or 50mm. I have seen a list comparing the measurements in some
sort of table. Unfortunately, I have long forgotten where I saw this
list. Does anyone know of anything like this? Or, do you know of
any links that have kind of a side by side comparison of lens focal
lengths side by side?

I guess I'm trying to squeeze two cameras out of one. I've considered a Bronica S2A (135 N/W back), and a Rollei TLR (with a Rolleikin), but I'd like to get 6/7 SLR.

Is there a medium format back, or camera which will allow you to
rewind the film and re-shoot a frame?
-
While I'm waiting for digital backs to drop in price, I'd like to try
to design my own digital back, maybe with the parts fitting inside
the shell of a medium format 6x6, or 6x7 or 6x9 back, or even design
a back from scratch, and stick it on a Mamiya 645, or other medium
format camera. It's not really important that the pixel count equal
the fully digital cameras that professionals use, since I am an
amateur. Someday I may get an all digital camera, but I can't afford
the ones I really like. Does any of this sound plausable?
-
Soooo, if I were to go out and buy a Rollei TLR, Mamiya 645, or maybe a Hasselblad X-pan camera, would I be blowing my money? Let's say that I wanted to use one of these cameras for about 10 years.

Awhile back I asked if I should fear the digital revolution. With
new multi-million pixel cameras coming out every few months, will
medium format cameras still be able to hang on for a few more
years? Especially for us hobbyists? What about you professionals
out there? I must admit, that I like the potential ease of image
storage for digital cameras, but I value lens interchangeability, the
ability to handle a wide range of ISO's (I've never gone above 1600,
but it's nice to have a choice), and simplicity of medium format
cameras. Thoughts anyone?

Does anyone out there have a manual or any other information of a
somewhat obscure camera called "Optika IIa"? I just bought one of
these and I'm kind of feeling my way around with it.
Sincerely,
Maurice

I've owned my Kowa 66 since last Spring. It's been a good camera so
far. Other opinions that I've read on the 'net have been mostly good.
Certainly pricewise, you can't (in my opinion) do much better without
spending a lot more money. The 66 has a good selection of lenses,
interchangeable backs (including a polaroid version), magnifying
hoods, finders, and so on. Ask you wallet which camera it likes best.

I had asked a question regarding the Kiev 60 camera and a Kiev /
Nikon mount a few days ago. After reading the reports concerning the
Kiev 60 (frame overlaps, inaccurate meters, etc.) I've just decided
to skip it and stick with trying to build up my Kowa system. You
guys have saved me a lot of heartache! Thanks again!

I would like to buy a Kiev 60 camera. I already have a Kiev 19 35mm
camera and I would like to know if it would be worth it to get a Kiev
60 to Nikon Lens Adapter. If I fit the lens from the Kiev 60 with
the adapter onto the Kiev 19, will the picture quality suffer?

I'd like to thank everyone for answering my concerns regarding the so-
called "Digital Revolution". You've all given me hope (that the
money I've blown on new lenses, etc. wasn't spent in vain, and that
my Kowa Super 66 still has a lease on life).
<p>
I am on a new quest; Does anyone know where I could get either a
Diagonal or Horizontal focusing screen for my Kowa 66? I scour the
web weekly, but the only thing that I have turned up is the "Clear
Spot II", which I already have. I have seen a split focus screen for
the Kowa 6, but it won't fit the Super 66.

I have a Kowa Super 66 camera, and hope to receive two new lenses
this week. I would like to develop my hobby to the point where I can
at best sell a few pictures, and at worst win a minor contest or
two. The advent of digital backs, and cameras concerns me a bit.
Four or five years from now, will I be able to buy 120/220 film?
Will potential clients say "Film is nice, kid, but I only deal with
digital images". Concievably, I could transfer my compositional
ability to digital cameras, but I dont forsee being able to afford a
$5000 digital camera. Am I just being paranoid?
Do any kits exist that will allow me to build my own digital back?
