Nice design layout with vertical, horizontal, and diagonal lines along with the B&W negative or solarization effect. This would look great printed on metallic paper.

Nice focus transition from foreground to background on the insect. The fingerprint works well too, but how about cropping a bit so the spider fills the image more and is the stronger emphasis? See my example...only a suggestions of course.

Some nice detail here...how about working with the background and some slight sharpening to emphasize things more. I have an example of one of my weathervanes. Seems we have a bit in common.

  1. Interesting indeed! And it does work better in the larger view. A few suggestions as requested: It looks like the figure on the right has a slash mark on the arm. Increasing the color saturation and brighting a bit might balance the red sash. How about a bit of color or metallic shine in the crosses? And, maybe dodging the horizon line to bring out the details in the distant mountains for more depth. Is there anything you think you can do with the birds in flight?

The low saturation works well for the soft image. In rebuttal to, but considering Henry's comments, perhaps just adjusting the black level a bit would increase depth and still keep much of the detail without changing overall sense of the composition.

Good example of spacial envelope and tonal balance. Has a luminescent infrared glow with nice range from deep black to the spark of the highlights. The eye wants to keep moving deeper into the image. Nicely done.

Good overall composition. Visual activity flows around and back into main subject. Softness works well, but a bit of sharpness in selected areas might actually place more emphasis on the softer aspects. Lighting and coloring works for the subject. Nice job!

Nice overall composition and contrast. Increasing brightness of just highlights might make it pop just a bit more and bring the inside of composition to outer brightness of border. Good job on keeping the visual activity flowing around and through.

Very nicely done! Natural facial expression and softness of gray scale and contrast appropriate to subject. Sharpening the eyes a bit more might be a nice touch.
